My Christmas Plans
My Christmas Plans

Christmas is commemorating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is the greatest gift God had given us. He is the savior of all human kind for offering and sacrificing His life to save us from our sinful actions for God is LOVE. For me, Christmas means LOVE, for God’s overflowing love to us that He gave His only Son. I love celebrating Christmas for it is the best time to have our gathering with my family as one. I wish that we are going to attend mass together and have our simple Noche Buena. I want to develop my cooking skills also, I will volunteer to cook my favorite “laing” and prepare for the Christmas decorations in our house. Every year we also do some activities like “paagawan ng pera”, we dance, we sing, I wish also to watch movies with my family with the true essence of Christmas. Since I love singing, during my childhood, I always do Christmas caroling and I earned a lot of money with that and I remembered that I really saved a lot for we’ve finally start saving in the bank and how happy I was that time. Since then, I continue saving money and I plan that all money that I will receive this Christmas will be deposited again in my savings account. I will buy gifts for my loved ones too to let them feel that I really appreciate their presence in my sad and happy moments. Giving gifts became our tradition every year and it brings joy for everyone for we received things which we ever wanted to have. I have many things to attain this coming Christmas for I want to celebrate it with great preparation for it is very significant for me, not only for me but for all who believed that Jesus is truly God. I will make my Christmas resolution as what I do every year; make more sacrifices, charity works, prayers and do fasting which I observed every year. I want to complete the “Misa de Gallo” to receive more blessings from God and for my family, relatives and friends as well. These are what I offered to God during these times

The world is asked to accept the manifestation of God’s love, not in abstract terms, but in the full presence of a man in “our image and likeness,” one who can weep, suffer, bleed and die. This is the mystery that is shown to the world in the revelation of Jesus Christ, and Christmas believe it with awe, love and joy. The child in Mary’s arms is the Lord, the Son of God, and the one who holds the keys of…

Christmas is a holiday celebrated around the world. Children wait all night the evening before for santa to place their gifts beneath the tree. Excitement rages from them the morning of December twenty-fifth; pretty wrapping paper and shiny bows glisten under the christmas tree lights while the bulbs upon it sparkle so elegantly. However, Christmas is not about all these aspects that it is displayed as. Christmas has more meaning than pretty gifts and how many gifts each child has under the tree. This holiday is above the amount of money one kid gets while the next gets so little. Though some see Christmas as a materialistic holiday, it has far more depth than so little meaning. The Holiday of Christmas contrasts greatly with celebrations…

Winston Churchill once said, “Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection.” As the big day draws near, it is important to reflect on the roots of the global holiday as well as the direction in which it is heading. Christmas is a tradition rooted deep in the history of western society. It has undergone many changes since it’s earliest celebrations. Even today, the holiday is constantly changing. Each year brings new innovations to Christmas. In the dawn of the holiday, it was minor and focused on the birth of Jesus, the light of the world. In the 19th century, Christmas was a time of family and goodwill to mankind. Today, though there still remains aspects of religion and selflessness, more than ever it has become a holiday consumed by commercialism. It is a development that is not likely to go way any time soon.…

    Keep Christ in Christmas

Jesus our King is our reason for Christmas, but merchants and television have torn us away from this idea. To keep Christ in Christmas things must be done, for instance quickly scrawling Merry X-mas on a card is totally against the idea, although more convenient then writing Christmas it suggests that Christmas is not a Christen holiday. Christmas is a time for presents and T.V. specials to little kids, it could be taught to them that it's not what you get, but what you give in the first place. I no for a fact that Jesus died to save us, and not get praise from God, or to get us to follow Him, He received crucifixion willingly to save all races, in all nations, and for all ages. So giving secretly to the poor, the sick, or people you try to tolerate your being like Him, by giving to all no matter what. When decorating outside on your lawn don't just put Frost and Santa and the reindeer, add a Nativity Scene to remind you and all that pass your house that you know what Christmas is truly about. And inside your house all Christmassy as is may be remember on your tree at the top that, angel or star you place so delicately think of why you use those images. Maybe that symbolizes the one that lit the way to Bethlehem where in the manger Christ slept, or that angel signifies the one Mary saw who told her she was to give the birth to Child King, or the one who told the Shepard's and kings about Jesus being born in Bethlehem. When in school remember to keep in your hearts forever what you learn in religion class about Advent and Christmas so you can others like some protestant neighbors and maybe in the light of season they'll come back to our church. When you give gifts remember the look on the recipients faces because that is the best Christmas of…

Sadly, we do not have the luxury of visiting our relatives every year but, we have gone twice during Christmas and New Year, and Christmas was celebrated quite differently. During these trips I learned a lot about my heritage and the importance of tradition. You don’t hear the words Santa Claus, and children don’t receive presents on Christmas Day. Instead, we celebrate Dia de los Reyes, or Three Kings’ Day which is celebrated on January 6th .This special holiday commemorates the three wise men who traveled a distance to bring gifts for the infant baby Jesus. Aside from this holiday, we also participated in las posadas, it is a reenactment of Mary and Joseph’s arrival in Bethlehem, performed just before Christmas. Young adults perform these reenactments as they ride on donkey in the rancho, searching for hospitality. Once they are turned away three times, the entire community gathers together at the local church for warm bowls of pozole and mugs of chocolate (Mexican hot chocolate). This reenactment is crucial to our tradition as it is performed several times leading up to Christmas. During my stay in Mexico and participating in all these holidays I learned that there is much more to life than receiving the most gifts during the holidays. My stay there taught me to be humble and to value the important…

One of the reasons why I think Christmas is the best national holiday is because, it's a great time to spend quality time with the family. For example, everyone in my family either has the day off, takes the day off, or is on winter break. We get together and have a family dinner party, my cousins from California come in from town and we always have a great time. Every year gets better and better. The family gets together and spend quality time with each other. They either go out, have dinner, open presents, sing holiday carols, go to church, and much more. Spending time with your family is priceless. All you got to have is your family and you can always have fun with them. This is important because, as you get older, you go to college, you move out, start your own family, and drift away from your family. Because of Christmas, you can use this day to bring your family together, and it would feel like you guys were never apart.…

The holiday Christmas has traditionally represented the birth of Jesus Christ. Christians worldwide have celebrated December 25 as their God’s birthday; however, Christians have held no historical significance to the holiday. Most customs involved in Christmas have originated from ancient pagan celebrations. The customs have dated back to events like Saturnalia and the Unconquered Sun, proving the ideas stemmed from pagan roots not Christian.…

So here we go again another year and another Christmas. But as everyone knows today we have a constant battle over the holiday as it is. So let's look at what we really have as per this so-called religious holiday and its relationship with humanity. Now it is claimed in Scripture that a woman became pregnant by a certain person or being out of wedlock, but a very compassionate and loving man marries her anyway. Then the baby is born and its mother and father (stepfather) live in a town called Nazareth in which the rest of the story unfolds.…

Christmas is my favorite holiday. It’s the time of year when I accompany my mother, sister or friends to the store to buy gifts for other people. We decorate our homes to bring cheer to our friends and families. We hang our light on the outside of the homes to brighten the spirits of our friends, neighbors, and strangers, who drive by to see the colored lights.
