My College Admissions Essay: My Journey To College
As a fresh, high school graduate I was more concerned about things outside of college. I forced myself to go to college, but I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to be yet, so I started off with Radiology Technician. I didn’t strive to do my best, which knew I could have. As long as I made a passing grade I was happy with that, but with medical programs being competitive, that wasn’t going to cut it. When I graduated high school, I knew I needed to go to college, so I signed up like any other high school graduate. At that time I was still immature and more worried about my boyfriend at the time. I wanted to go to parties instead of doing school work, just the idea of being free sounded a lot better than being in school. When I had started college, I signed myself up for the normal prerequisite classes such as Math, English, and Anatomy. For me that was a load while …show more content…
After talking to my counselor and I had found out because the nursing program was so competitive my B’s were holding me back. So I ended up having to retake classes that I got a B in over to get an A so I could get a seat in the program.

Once I started the program, it was literally nose in the books all day every day, even when I was on “break”. This program literally sucked the life out of me for a year. Then the following year, 2012 I graduated from the LVN program ready to take the NCLEX exam.
Now I’m furthering my education to get my RN and I am still running into issues from when I was being careless about my grades, but I also found out that the school I had attended back then wasn’t accredited. In result, I still have to retake classes that I have already taken, but this time because the school wasn’t accredited, such as this English

I didn’t know what happen, I was too young and so scared, the only thing I thought was to find his parents to go for help. So a girl and I decided to run to his home. The little girl was in front of me when we were crossing the road, and we didn’t realize a car was coming. When first posed the questions of how do I fit in at a college and how my extracurricular activities and experiences would benefit the college, I was not sure where to begin writing. To be perfectly honest, I think I would be a good fit on almost any campus because I believe I am adaptable to my surroundings and have a solid foundation that would make me an asset anywhere in the nation. While the previous sentence may come across to readers as egocentric or egotistic, I’m puzzled at where to begin because I also don’t think I’m outstanding anywhere compared to my fellow students academically speaking. On the other hand, it is almost a forgone conclusion in my mind that I have experienced more in my years than the majority of my peers. Also, as a result of many of these experiences, I’ve been able to get a jump start in my field of choice compared to where anyone else in the nation going into my career would likely be. Overall, I would say I have…

I was placed on Academic Probation after my freshmen spring semester, I went to College with a new set of freedom I never had before and did not know how to adjust to my new freedom well. I come from a very large blended family and my parents worked very hard to provide for all of us, my mom had worked multiple jobs and was trying to continue her education so she would leave for work very early and would come home very late. That left the cooking, cleaning and tending to my younger brother to me all while I was a high school student, working 2 jobs and playing softball. With all that being said when I got to college I did not focus on school because for the first time in 4 years all I had to worry about was me and that was a strange relief…

Felicia Lemos Mrs. Radford Scholarship Essay. Starting high school can be very unpredictable, and most of all in sports. When becoming a freshman, there are many differences coming from middle school sports to high school sports. In eighth grade you are a leader. Freshman year you're the underdog, and the seniors know they are the best because they are more experienced and have the most talent. Being one of the youngest pushed me to work harder than ever before. My journey of track showed me that being an underdog does not affect your skill in sports. I worked so hard to reach my goals, and with my perseverance I became one of the fastest people on the track team. The first day of track practice i remember vividly. My coach; Mr. Watson, was…

It was in my third semester of nursing school where I hit a major roadblock. I was taking a required class called Complex Health Alterations (CHA), this class in particular spanned two full semesters and was taken in two parts; my roadblock came at the end of the second semester. This class was challenging for me and I had to put a great deal of time and effort into preparing for exams, I found myself either doing moderately well or sometimes not too well. At the end of the semester when final grades came out I was .02 percent below the passing grade to move on to the final semester of the program. I was devastated, but pragmatic enough in knowing that I didn’t pass, remembering what my dad had always told me, “move on, it is over and in the past, you need to look forward, what is done is done”. I genuinely planned on moving forward but had heard from fellow students that the one of the other students that had technically “failed” the course was being allowed to move on because she had only received .01 percent below the passing grade; this had stopped me dead in my tracks. I contemplated how I was going to handle this, should I step up and say something? Should I keep my mouth shut and retake the…
