My Destiny
Andrew J. Myers III The Destiny in My Hands

I know that my destiny is in my hands. Everyone has a chance to do whatever they choose to do, whether it is to be great at basketball or excellent at playing the piano. Some people are born with certain gifts and some people have to practice that craft for countless hours. My destiny is unlimited. I chose not to limit myself to being perfect at one specific thing, but to be incredibly amazing at everything that I do. I wake up from the perfect slumber, to greatly bathe and get hygienically spotless, to leave the house to have a positive day. I walk with confidence and intelligence, yet without arrogance. I strive to improve my daily situation by facing everything with a positive attitude. I treat my destiny as a malleable piece of clay. I mold it every day to what I want it to be. Taking care of business in class and also being a young man of integrity, giving an example of how to behave mannerably and respectfully are ways to form my destiny into a successful and peaceful life.
The dictionary definition of destiny is something that is to happen or has happened to a particular person or thing; lot or fortune. My definition of destiny is the results of the seeds you have sewn earlier. By getting a clear understanding of both of these definitions shows that a person’s destiny can be controlled by their own actions. The way that someone responds to another person can affect their own destiny. It is amazing that someone’s destiny can be affected positively and negatively. I am a firm believer in karma and fate; if you help someone they might help you or someone else in return. I was raised being taught to do things for others, not because you expect to receive something back, but because it is the right thing to do. If I make decisions like these, I will positively help mold my destiny. However, if you’re walking in the hallway and you chose to bully someone, this will leave a bad reputation, possibly destroying

Throughout the ages, it has been believed that fate has the power to forge one’s destiny. By some uncontrollable force, the outcome of a person’s choices is controlled by the way in which they are destined to occur. On the other hand though, some believe these choices can defy fate and that fate only manipulates one's mind into choosing their own path. One question that seemed to pop into my head through out this play was whether individuals were victims of fate or their I own choices, or if each aspect plays a significant part in determining their destiny. In the play Macbeth, William Shakespeare plays around with the idea of fate, placing the destiny of Macbeth before him, yet allowing his own ambitions and desires to drive him insane in order to achieve it. However, at the beginning of the play, Macbeth is portrayed as a good man. Yet he decides to commit, not one or to two, but a series of bad actions that only he had the power to control.…

People say that fate is unavoidable, but, through my personal experiences, it has come to my realization that one’s fate is in their own hands. A person’s actions determine their fate, which is why I believe that life is essentially defined by a person’s free will. An instance in my life, when my fate was being defined by my actions was when I moved from Jersey City to Erie. Since I did not approve of this move, my thoughts made me believe that what was about to happen was just life being unfair, in other words, my fate. Now I have come to understand that this move could have been avoidable; I was given a chance to stay, if only I would have improved my grades and gotten into the high school that my parents wished for me to go to. Alas, I did not take that situation seriously, and I paid the consequences by having to leave my…

Ever taken a test, and believed with utmost confidence that you would succeed even though not much studying or effort was put into the topic prior to the test? And funny enough you come out with a high score although the odds would say otherwise. I personally am a strong believer that we carve the paths to our own destiny, and that fate isn’t a sealed, but rather is driven by our present thoughts and actions. While we control the ultimate outcome of our timely uncertain future, all we can do is guide ourselves to the most beneficial outcome for us and those around us. This can be seen in Shakespeare’s work Macbeth, where the main character Macbeth was told multiple times what he was gonna become. And through repetition in his thoughts and over-analyzation, he was able to realize that he really did want what the witches had foreseen for him in the future. So he did anything at his grasp to become what he had been told he was gonna be, by tyranting down a path of pain and backstabbing for him and all his…
