the information on eating right I been eating dinner before eight and for me that is a good thing. My diet compared to the recommendations I received from the food pyramid is I am not eating a balanced diet and I am not getting the proper nutrients in my body so it can function properly. Day one I consumed 6 ½ oz. of grains, 2 cups of vegetables, ¼ of dairy and 11 ½ oz.
of protein. Day two I consumed 11 ½ oz. of grains, 2 ¼ cup of vegetables, ¼ cup of fruit, 1 ¼ of dairy and 4 ½ oz. of protein. Day three I consumed 8oz. of grains, 3 ¼ cup of vegetables, no fruit, 1 ¼ cup of dairy and 9oz. of protein. According to the three day analysis I was either under the recommended intake amount or way over the intake amount recommended for me within my plan. To modify my diet to best use the six classes of nutrients and recommended serving I will include more vegetables in my meals. Instead of eating candy and a lot of sweets I will eat fruit that is sweet to make up for the candy. I will change the way I make my salads instead of ice berg lettuce I will use dark leafy green lettuce to make my salads. I will stop drinking a lot of sodas and replaced them with 100% fruit juice or water. The six classes of nutrients are water, protein, carbohydrate, lipids (fats), vitamins and minerals. My nutrients intake affects my current health because I recently found out I have high blood pressure and I am sure my current diet plays a major role. I never thought about just how much sodium is in some of the foods I eat such as pork and I love bacon and
ham. Sometimes I feel so drained and I do not have enough energy to do all my day to day activities. I noticed some hair loss and I am almost positive it is due to not having enough protein in my body. Drinking a lot of sodas can cause bladder infections so I definitely do not want that to happen. My new diet and nutrient intake will affect my current and future health in many ways. Being that I recently found out that I have high blood pressure I will stop eating foods that contains sodium and only use seasoning that are sodium free such as Mrs. Dash. Although I love eating pork I will eat turkey bacon and sandwich meat. I have a whole new out look on the foods I will eat from now on. Right now I am the heaviest I have been my whole life and I know it is not healthy. My nutrient intake is going to play a major role in maintaining a healthy weight. According to my plan with food tracker I am 15 lbs. over weight for my height. My goal is to lose 20 lbs. and my new diet and nutrients intake will allow me to lose the weight without depriving myself of the nutrients I need to stay healthy from now on. It will also help me get my blood pressure under control and hopefully I will not have to take medicine for the rest of my life.
