My Dirty Room
The most untidy place I know
By Hussain Kachwalla

The most untidy place I know is my room. It is home to dust and a tourist spot for germs. As you walk towards the door and touch the knob you will find some green goo and super sticky. When you open the door you won’t only feel horrified but dizzy. This is because the smell which I couldn’t find where it was coming from. It is fine until you don’t faint.
The first thing you see is my TV which is located in the corner of the wall where my cockroaches dwell. Placed on the TV is my collection of the bubble heads and maybe a sock or two. What supports my TV is a fine wooden drawer and one of the drawers is slightly open. This is because something is stuck behind it and no one is ready to take it out; a typical family problem. As you enter I warn you, watch your step as there maybe something sore for your eyes. In front of my TV is my bed, but I call it a coat rack. You may find hats, caps or a stinking rat! Under the bed are my school books where I use them as support. On your left will be my metal cupboard which has thousand stickers from Harry Potter to Mickey Mouse of all different colours. In my cupboard you won’t find clothes, but you will find junk which may have expired over more than two years.
My favourite thing in my room is my rug, it acts like a red carpet for superstars but I like it because it is my emergency trashcan. If I accidently drop something, I quickly sweep it under my rug, swiftly. I have windows and curtains but don’t use it to look out. My windows is cracked on one side and scratched on another. Well, my curtains’ are really towels hanging around. And on one side of my room is my wall, on this wall, I put posters, I draw with pencils, I spray paint and smash with a hammer. I put my clothes in a special place. I place it under my study table as my cupboard space is already used up, if you bend down to take a peak, you will see a heap of clothes of different colours. If you are lucky you

This book is about a Jewish girl named Annie. Her life completely changed around 1941. When Hitler had started to do the bad things to the Jewish. She had two sisters, Rachael and Sini. They lived in Winterswijk. They weren’t safe living there, so they moved to the woods. Their mother was sick, so she didn’t want to go to America. She ended up in the hospital. But she died a week before they were taking Jewish people from the hospitals. The Germans wanted more people to go to the concentration camps so they had to hide. Their dad went to a friends hiding place because they only had space for one. Rachael, Sini and Annie were supposed to go to the Hanninks. Rachael did not want to go. Sini had to die her hair to go so they wouldn’t know she was a Jewish. Annie had to cut her hair and dress like a boy to go. When they got to Usselo she met Dini Hannink, they went to her house together. They stayed there for about to two weeks. Then they had to go to the Oostervelds. They were really nice people. Johan was a farmer, Dientje, and Opoe (Johan’s mother). They were supposed to stay there for at least a week because Mr. Hannink thought a German followed him. Annie’s legs were getting crooked and couldn’t walk that much so she had to exercise. She really hated to do that. After a year and a half they haven’t even seen how the house looked. And Sini really wanted a tan. So Johan let them go out. He was going to pick them up around dinner. But then Dientje’s sister came and they couldn’t get in. Annie got real sick that day. A nice doctor came and helped them. The Germans came to inspect their house but Johan made a hiding place in the closet. The Germans caught one of their friends. They knew who had told the Germans so they told Johan to kill him and he did. He went to hide for a while in somewhere else. Then one day Germans come and tell them they want to use their house for headquarters. They tried…

    Room 101 i hate spiders

It is my opinion that spiders should be banished to Room 101 - the world would most likely be a better place without them. I am not arachnophobic, as I am not afraid of scorpions or other arachnids, but I am absolutely terrified of spiders. Merely the thought of them fills me with dread and causes me to shudder. Many people consider this fear to be irrational but in my opinion, these people are ignorant of the true nature of spiders; it is my belief that spiders are pure evil and quite possibly the sources of all the malice in the world. This is, of course, a perfectly rational explanation. For instance, the way in which most spiders feed – sucking the fluids of their victims – is reminiscent of vampires drinking their victims’ blood, a truly horrifying prospect.…

In Soft Rains, Ray Bradbury creates a story about life after people. Times in 2026 are described as a time where technology continues to operate after humanity has passed away. The author uses imagery and personification to develop his idea that technology had become excessive to the point it no longer requires human presence to operate.…

In Robinson’s poem “Miniver Cheevy”, the main character, Miniver Cheevy, is someone with the hope of achieving the American Dream. Possibly living in a different time period, Miniver Cheevy did not achieve this dream and has given up trying to reach for it. The American Dream represents the goal that Miniver Cheevy should aspire for‒a family, fame, and fortune. As Robinson writes, “Miniver sighed for what was not, and dreamed, and rested from his labors….Miniver scorned the gold he sought, But sore annoyed was he without it.” The character is distraught about what his life would have been, and now he drinks his life and troubling thoughts away, complaining about the things he does not have. The American Dream may not always appeal to everyone.…

I am rarely allowed to go out of my house. I can only go out when the neighbors are in their houses. I can never do anything fun because that is a sin. During the day, I peel the paint off my walls to see if there are any holes in the walls. If I do find a hole, I dig deeper and deeper until I cannot go on anymore. Then I just leave it. Sometimes, I find mice in the holes. When I find them, I keep them for a while and then I eat them alive. When I do not want to talk to my family, I hide in my closet and just stay in there for hours. My brother sometimes brings me stuff from work if I behaved well during the day. Every time he brings me something, I hide it stored in a place only I know about, which is a hole in the tree outside. Last week, I hid my Wrigley’s Double-Mint and a couple of Indian-head coins. When I came back a few days later to store a ball of gray twine, my gum and my coins were gone. The kids who stole my things did not know I was watching them. A few days later, in the knothole, I placed a carved soap of the two kids I carved myself so I could scare them away. I also got caught by my brother I was hiding things in the knothole because the next day, he filled in with cement. When I don’t peel the paint off my walls or find mice to eat, I just sleep to kill time. When I'm allowed to go to the bathroom, I close the door and try to sharpen my teeth for the mice. It’s really painful because I get a knife sharpener and I literally sharp my teeth. I also keep a needle and ball of twine and I make figures out of them. When I sew, I make our neighbors like Mr. Avery and Mr. Finch. I never sew like a girl but I think they are good for my standards. I also try to kill my time reading the dictionary. Reading the dictionary is better than reading the Bible because you can learn a few new words off the dictionary while the Bible tells you how to live your life. Lastly, I draw on my wall that tells how…

The kitchen is decorated with polished wooden cabinets and a squeaky clean stove that shows your reflection when staring down upon it. There is also a fridge in the back of the kitchen and the trash bin resides next to the fridge. Touring the rest of the apartment there is my bedroom, my sister’s room and the master bedroom. My room suits all my needs; whether it be sleeping, eating, studying, or relaxing. My getaway place is my room. There are two twin beds in my room, and a closet full of shoes and clothes. A 50 inch television sits on top of the only black sleek dresser in the room. My room is usually where I invite all my friends over and throw parties. In my sister’s room there is a formal setup, just a simple king sized bed and a beige headstand where she keeps her television. In the hallway there is a treadmill where users can burn off calories and improve cardio. There are two bathrooms in the apartment, inside them are white walls and brown tiles in the tub. Also a mirror is above the sink to make sure people arrange themselves properly before exiting. The master bedroom hosts a bathroom, closet, and a desktop on top of a glass computer…

Sullivan, Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, Mushu and Cricket from Mulan, and Au Naturel from the Minion Movie). Next to my window is my collage of pictures. I have 3 short silver wires and each holds 4 bright pictures; below those, I have a wood frame that has a picture of me and my childhood friends; and my last picture on that wall is my "Alice Down the Rabbit Hole", it is another and different interpretation of the story. Now on to my right wall, this wall is a little different than the rest. My twin sized bed is on the floor right up against the wall, but the wall itself slants inward, right over my bed. My blanket on my bed is an orange quilt that has an old purple floral design on it. It has a retro look. At the foot of my bed, is a short, white foot dresser that my great-grandfather built my mother. On that is where my black Dell computer and my white Google Chrome charge (those lay side by side), next to those is where I keep my large and colorful Biology binder. On top of that stands my Pocket People that I got when I traveled to New…

The war on drugs whether wrong, right, or indifferent, has yielded a plethora of life changing outcomes for many United States citizens. Both the plaintiff and the defendant have their own side of the dispute, and yet somehow the plaintiff in the non-stop ‘cash grab’ that’s so conveniently nicknamed the “War on Drugs” gets the benefit of zero-tolerance, or minimum sentencing. In most cases the defendants simply are doomed from the beginning due to horrible living conditions and lack of jobs in the area. Coupled with police brutality and prejudice pointed toward the African-American community as a whole, it should come as no surprise that in 2011 there were more African-Americans in prison or “under the watch” of the justice system than were enslaved in the United States in 1850. This is not any more a war on drugs than the Iraqi Conflict was a war on the seizure of weapons of mass destruction.…

Next to my bed is a bookshelf divided in four sections, the one at the bottom is meant for my brother’s projects because they work way too much with computers and that kind of stuff which needs a lot of space, the next one is meant for David’s scholar books, upper is meant to my scholar books, but they are not as heavy or take as much space as my brothers’ books do, so I got some extra space for my CD’s and DVD movies, also some make-up stuff and my mother’s pills for her illness, lastly, in the top level of the bookshelf you can find my older brother’s…

I like them all because they make me think and have a different perspective on life, or they are a different way of saying something that I did not have the words for. The bookmark, as well as the word "books" is to state once more my passion for books. Like my quotes, books make me look at the world differently, or sometimes they are the best for making me laugh or cry. The tiny picture of the couple is my mom and my stepdad Sean. They are a huge part of my life. The photo right under that is another one that I took. I know, it is not much, but it is one of my favorites. The clipping of a flower is because I like flowers (No way). The word "color" is because I like color (I know, so vague.) I like how color adds depth and beauty to the world and makes it brighter and bolder. I like how it can say a thousand words or only one, which is also why my room's theme is "rainbow" (which might only be my family's nice way of saying nothing matches.) Basically, I do not think I would enjoy living in the world from The Giver. All the pictures of the random people are my friends. I love these people for who they are, and they make my life more enjoyable (this is also my explanation for the word "friends".) As for the stickers, the Christmas tree is there for the same reason as the polar bear on the pink side; I Love Christmas. Finally, the birds are because I am a bird. I do not stay in one place for too long…

    My Messy Room

I am currently sitting in my bedroom, on a cold winter day. My feet touching the rough surface of my ancient Persian carpet, walls of orangey orange stare at me through the pictures on them, and the mountains of dirty clothes falling over me as if there was an avalanche going on. Today is not going well as I feel stressed from all the chores that I have, plus the cleaning of my over infected room. Even though every visitor that gets to see my room may suffer blindness from seeing the mess, I love this room because it has a certain warmth and glow that allows my mind to rest in peaceful bliss. Yes, maybe there is a smell of wet dog and there are pets that I never brought home crawling around every corner of this room but it is the place where I grew up and feel safe to be when I am down. There are so many great treasures hidden in this room that as soon as I clean, I feel water drops fall from my dark brown eyes and run across my cheeks until they fall from my chin and hit the floor. Out of a 24 hour day I may only take 7 hours to get this place spotless and be able to observe the wonders hidden inside of the black door that covers the entrance.…
