My Educational Goals
As many senior High School students make the decision to go to college or not there are many factors that play into that decision. For many students, the benefits of going to college, is the driving factor that ultimately makes the decision easier. There are many benefits of going to college. A degree is just one major benefit. But there are many other benefits that get over looked. One benefit is meeting new people that may or may not be the same age. Another benefit is students are held accountable for their actions and doing their assignments. In addition, college allows students to grow as individuals and learn what works for them and what does not work for them. These goals can change semester to semester and from person to person. With that being said, throughout my years in school, I have had many educational goals. When I started college Fall 2014, I wrote down my educational goals that way I could see and read them everyday. One of my educational goals was to earn a spot on the Dean’s List. To my surprise, Spring 2015 my hard work and dedication paid off and I earned my name on the Dean’s List. A second goal of mine was to earn at least a 3.0 GPA. To this day, over 4 semesters, over 50 credits taken at Howard Community College, I accumulated a 3.558 GPA. A third goal I wrote down was to focus more on learning and retaining. It is very easy to just learn information, take a test, and forget about it. Out of many educational goals I wrote down, this fourth one was the most important one and that was to be admitted into the nursing program at Howard Community College. All things considered, I have surpassed many of my educational goals, but that does not mean I stop where I am, I will keep going in my academic journey and not stop until I reach the
