I believe… Teachers have a responsibility as professional educators to provide students with a positive and safe learning environment, guide students to become lifelong learners, and equip them with the necessary education that will promote exercise of their greatest potentials.
Teachers have the ability to create an environment where appropriate reinforcers exist that facilitate learning and establish acceptable behavior within the classroom. Through provision of a healthy and positive environment inductive to learning with positive reinforcement, students will treat each other and their surroundings with respect. As an example to the students, teachers as professional educators are committed to fulfilling students’ basic needs through care, concern, and compassion to maximize each student’s potential to learn in a respectful and positive classroom.
Each student learns differently. It is my duty as a teacher to know and guide students to use their talents and abilities to reach their full potential with rigor. I will devote myself to my students to know them well as learners and children to be the best guide, instructor, and example for them.
I will encourage them to pursue excellence through honest and positive attitude and feedback to build their learning abilities and knowledge to be the best that they can be in my classroom and beyond the realms of the school. Students need teachers that will show them the way to success in various aspects of their lives. Success will not be defined as just academic success, but success in their lives, in their passions, and in their dreams among their friends, family, and future colleagues.
My desire as a professional educator and mentor to students is that I want students to become curious about learning beyond the subject content and understanding. Learning to think for themselves and understanding their own responsibilities should be practiced in schools as part of their daily lives to develop and become lifelong learners with a sense of good citizenship to be a positive part of today’s society.
A sound education includes involvement of cooperation of students, parents, fellow teachers, and administrators. Respect, support, and encouragements from all these individuals will enhance a positive learning environment for the students.
I believe… As I impart the knowledge needed, I will also manage to inspire and motivate my students to seek more by showing them that they can have fun in the search. Education is an enjoyable, lifelong journey that should be valued for the benefit of my students and myself. This is inevitably a challenge, but one that I will be committed to.
