Throughout our lives, we all go through a fairly similar story where we start off making our own ordinary world full of predictability and comfort, that we all eventually get taken or drawn away from. Many will attempt to refuse this call to adventure, and many others will have no choice and get tossed into an unknown, difficult world. In this new world, we’ll have to go through at least one supreme ordeal, if not much more, being hindered by our own demons and by the demons of others, and getting help from allies. We'll go through various tests and learn crucial lessons from all of the mistakes we'll make along the way. This story we go through is professionally referred to as the Hero's Journey and my older brother, Preston, is a terrific…
It was impossible, there was no sword in the rock, nothing. I instantly knew just who had it. Back at the tourney, I decided on confronting the child and the knight that had the blade. But the sword was now just a normal blade exactly like mine. Was I insane? No, I knew what I had seen. I knew there was a ornate golden blade. I scanned the surrounding area searching for a sign of where the golden blade and the knight where. Finally I decided to just go down and run between the tents that held armour and weapons for the soldiers, and then finally the actual tourney. I then noticed the child returning looking prouder than ever. I confronted him trying to look like a stalwart knight. But I´d say I looked more like a coward, so he just ignored…
What comes to your mind when you hear the word hero? My kind of hero is one that will try as hard as they can even if they know they can’t do anything to help it or make it better. My kind of hero is one that will fight even if it wont get them anywhere. My kind of hero is one that will be selfless when it comes to others. And when I think of a hero I think of a very strong special somebody that will do anything for anyone just to consider there feelings. My kind of hero is my little man Wyatt.…

Epic Hero- (n.) a brave and noble character in an epic poem, admired for great achievements. Odysseus and Spiderman both fit this description. The characteristics they displayed in their daily lives make them deserving of this title. In the novel The Odyssey by Homer, the main character Odysseus must learn how to take special gifts given to him by a goddess and use them to keep him alive. By comparison, in the screenplay Spiderman by David Koepp, the main character Spiderman deals with the same problem. I have been in 4-H for eight years, in those eight years 4-H has taught me to be a leader, help others, and be myself. I was always shy around new people but 4-H has helped me so much with going and meeting new people that it is not a problem anymore. Being one of the oldest in a lot of 4-H events is taught me, I have to lead all the young ones and set a good example for them. I have been a 4-H camp counselor for four years and have lead many kids. I have had many of them say that I am a role model to them all. If there is one that 4-H has taught me the most it is to help others. In 4-H we do so many community service projects to help out the community. I have helped with many of them every year. A 4-Her is looked at not by what they look like but what they do.…
A hero is a person of distinguished courage who has outstanding qualities and abilities, and who is admired for brave and noble acts. An Anglo-Saxon hero is a person who has good leadership qualities, is able and willing to provide people with a sense of security, and is willing to go into danger despite possible harm to them. Beowulf, Roy Hobbs, and the Dark Knight are all three heroes that exhibit Anglo-Saxon qualities that have allowed them to evolve into something bigger than itself. All three heroes have shown Anglo-Saxon values which have allowed the newer generation of heroes such as the Dark Knight to still possess these values and qualities that were founded at an earlier date. I have found six qualities among the three heroes which they all happen to possess which include strength, loyalty, courage, bravery, confidence and honor. These six qualities have shown that no matter how new or old the hero is, they have all stayed true and evolved starting with the Anglo-Saxon era.…
My heart is a mixture of hope and hopelessness, all around me is despair and misery and yet if I give up I perish. Every where I go I have to hold on to my emotions. Wherever I walk I see mutilated bodies and to think, that person could have had a life, makes you brake inside. But you have to stay strong, I got used to them, it becomes just a part of my nature. I mean, I see a body and then I disassociate myself completely from it. It was complete genocide. We unwillingly got forced onto a train. There were more thane 30 of us all in one carriage it was dark and there was only one window on the train. There was constant voices yelling, crying, mourning and screaming. A long time had past and noise began to dimmer. I made my way to the little…

It was a perfectly normal Saturday night, until I sat on the couch. I expected to enjoy a funny movie with my dad, but instead I got a trip to the hospital. I sat on the couch, and then I felt a sting in my elbow. At first, it felt like I got a shot at the doctor, but it slowly got worse, and felt more like a knife slicing into my elbow. I winced and sprung up from the couch. I squinted and my eyes scanned the spot where I just sat down. Aha, I thought. There was a small piece of plastic, and it looked like it broke off from a container.…
Have you ever been through an experience where you moved to an unfamiliar location by yourself? I had the opportunity to do just that when I left my hometown in Hong Kong and come to America for a better education. I was only thirteen years of age at the time. Giving me the chance to come the U.S was the greatest gift that my parent has ever given me in my life. I appreciated them for providing me this valuable and precious chance for my thirteen years old birthday present.…
