I would be highly honored if I were to be accepted into NHS. When I heard of National Honor Society I knew right away that I wanted to become a part of it. Ever since I was a young child, I remember seeing my friends and family members proudly receive awards and recognitions for their hard work because of this, I too wanted to be like them. I am a very hard-working student and I love to gain knowledge of new things every day, and even though neither of my parents had the privilege to receive an education, I hope to go to college. As of right now, my mother’s business is to buy, fix and rent houses, and my father is a roofer as well as a subcontractor. I know that running a business and maintaining a household is hard work, so I work along with both my mom and dad. Working with my parents has shown me that success can be achieved without an appropriate education, yet I also get to see how much physical labor and time away from home this takes. Being amidst the workers I realize that I want to do better in life and want to attend college.
To achieve this goal I am currently in the Jr. cosmetology program and have the privilege to come to CTC and learn from amazing teachers. This has given me a chance to achieve one of my first goals, to become a cosmetologist, CTC has given me the chance to be one step further in achieving my future goals. My current goal right now is to finish high school and graduate with my Cos.
