Although ethics of are high standards, the items stated previously also share equal importance. Many of these aspects are inter-twinned with ethical decisions. As a radiographer, it is my responsibility to provide all patients with equal care and quality. As a radiographer, you will be held responsible for providing poor quality images, therefore, it is your responsibility to perform your job properly. Respect goes hand-in-hand with responsibility in my opinion. Every patient I will encounter deserves to be treated with high levels of respect. I personally believe part of respect, is executing your job properly. By performing your job properly, you are delivering respect to your patient by helping them receive the proper medical treatment needed. As for integrity, I would not be satisfied with myself knowing I did not provide a quality image that could hinder the healing process of a patient. Also with equal importance is competence and concern. After graduating and before entering the work force, I must first pass an exam that will certify me to be licensed. Once I have passed the exam, I will be labeled competent to execute the role and duties of a radiographer. With that being said, I never will want to “sell a person short” by being incompetent and not performing my job properly.
