A eulogy follows the form of an introduction followed by the person’s early life and education, their career, hobbies and interest, qualities and achievements and a closing statement. I followed this structure including some memorable stories which suits my father’s life, humorous. A eulogy written as if it was a conversation with those attending, your memoires and feelings are shared with each other, I have expressed this throughout the second and fifth paragraph. Various tones can be used for eulogy whether they be sad, serious, thoughtful or humorous. I included compliments with funny stories which impacts those who knew my father well. When writing my eulogy, I had the intentions to express to the audience my true feelings about my father, through stories and explanation about the true meaning of what a father is to me.
Eulogies are genuine pieces that contain emotive language which helps express feelings of the reader to the audience. I have used emotive language throughout my price to reinforce the feelings I have towards my father. Words such as empathetic, banterous and gratitude make the eulogy more welcoming and warming to the audience. Slang was used at the start of the piece to create an atmosphere that was more like a family, so it connects all together to commemorate my father’s life, rather than a formal hostile
