My Experience As A WEB Leader
I am an excellent candidate to become a WEB leader because I have natural leadership qualities, have experience being a mentor to younger people, and know about possible difficulties with the transition from fifth to sixth grade.

I have always been the person who would step up to lead in group projects, difficult situations, and doing good for common causes. Yet, I know how to step down and let other people lead that might be better for the position. When accomplishing things, I like to go above the expectations, as I have by only turning in my best work, putting others above myself when appropriate, and advocating to make a good impression. I also have positive and negative group experiences that have helped me learned about how to work in a group well.

I have two younger sisters that I strive to be a good role model for. I am a counselor at a summer camp that requires an ATC (Aide Training Course) that I have attached a copy to the back of this paper. If I were to become a WEB leader, I would want to be more friendly role model than a harsh leader because of the experience I had with my sixth grade WEB

Henrietta Lacks is a black woman who was born in the 1940s. Discrimination of all kinds was at its high point at this time. “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” is a book explaining how her cells helped change and shape the medical field into what it is today. While doing this however there were many trials and tribulations included in this book that were caused mainly because of discrimination at that time. Discrimination was primarily a racial issue at that time, but that is not the only form. Things such as social status, poverty, and sex are others.…

However, I just know that being a leader is what I consider myself to be. I am a leader that wants what is best for the organization and what is best for all employees. I am a leader that believes you can never stop learning. Being honest, candid, having passion, respect, confidence, clarity, care, integrity, compassion, and able to engage employees, shows good leadership. Good leadership is having shared visions, humility, empowering, communication and being fearless; this is the type of leader that employees would want to lead them. These are all of what my personal philosophy of leadership is and more. When it comes to being a leader, I do not want to be just good, I want to be one of the best and at some point in my life, the…

I am a leader. I have all the qualities that make a great leader, but I was not born this way.Experiences and how someone reacts to those experiences are what truly make a leader. One of the most influential experiences I have gone through is called the Lebanon High School Marching Band. I am certain that I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for marching band. Before coming to high school I already had leadership qualities, but band helped bring all those great qualities together and helped me get past my two major flaws: my lack of self-confidence and the fact that I was probably one of the shyest people you would EVER meet. When I joined marching band, I spent most of my waking hours sweating and suffering alongside wonderful people that I longed to…

Breaking down my leadership qualities and traits and what kind I am the first thing that always comes to mind, is that I am one who still has a lot to learn and many skills to develop. Yes, I know that all of that will come with time but it remains a lingering thought letting me know that there is always room for constant improvement. That being said I would like to consider myself as a transactional leader. I greatly enjoy getting involved and checking in to ensure things are getting done right when the occasion calls for it. To include the added bonus of handing out rewards to the individuals that worked day in and day out to uphold and meet or exceed the standards I set and agree with them on.…

Before I was a more reserved and quiet leader, but now I have grown into the person I am today. I am not afraid to take on more substantial leadership roles. Through my work with SADD Club, the Ambassador Program, and especially the Diversity Team I have opened up to those leadership roles. I have shown the moderators of these clubs that not only am I responsible, punctual, and organized, but I am also willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I am always prepared and more than happy to help others.…

My leadership style is best described as a funnel. My aim in leading others is not to conduct every single individual, but to guide everyone to work towards the same central goal. I believe it is best to let others bring their own unique abilities to the table and use them to accomplish the task at hand. One of my most memorable experiences as a leader was leading my school’s student section. When I came into high school, school spirit was a joke. At games, everyone sat and no one said a thing. I decided that needed to change. My fellow students didn’t want change. They told my friends and I to sit down and shut up. I kept standing, I yelled louder, and kept going. Eventually, I started a spark. By the end of my freshman year there were a group…

As part of my assignment group I found myself falling more into the three different roles such as complete finisher, co-ordinator and implementer as Belbin described (Mullin, 2013, p. 336) this means I was always analysing details of the project that some of my team members fail to do so, I was focusing on our objectives and tried to direct the team towards them and also was determined to implement ideas into practice such as designing the template app idea for our project, designing the marketing video and our advert. However I believe I somehow undertook the role of a group leader too from the start because as soon as we formed our group and started to have meetings I always seemed to guide everyone on what they should focus their work on in that particular week . Furthermore, I quickly realised that it’s essential for me as…

My experience with being a leader in the groups that we did was a great learning experience. I learned a lot not only about myself, but also about what it is like to be the leader of a group. Leading a group was harder than I thought it would be and knowing how to start, what activities or techniques to use and what to say or do next was also harder than I thought.…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…

I can function effectively in a group or in a solo setting which is well organized but allows me leeway for individual initiative. I look for opportunities to further develop and apply my self-management skills through training, time management and activity planning. In the past, I have demonstrated leadership as both the assistant manager of a frozen yogurt shop and as a leader in the University Honors Program as a member of the Honors Student Council. I have also exhibited leadership throughout my academic and sports career by acting as a role model for my peers and leading by example. As a leader, I know that I do not need to be the most vocal, and instead understand that I should set the standard for my peers to follow. My past leadership…
