I have always been the person who would step up to lead in group projects, difficult situations, and doing good for common causes. Yet, I know how to step down and let other people lead that might be better for the position. I also have positive and negative group experiences that have helped me learned about how to work in a group well. …show more content…
Leading and mentoring people younger than me has been something I have been doing for as long as could remember.
I have two younger sisters that I strive to be a good role model for. I am a counselor at a summer camp that requires an ATC (Aide Training Course) that I have attached a copy to the back of this paper. If I were to become a WEB leader, I would want to be more friendly role model than a harsh leader because of the experience I had with my sixth grade WEB
leaders.
When I was in sixth grade I had a smooth transition from the very structured elementary styled way into the more laid back method in middle school. However, many of my friends and peers did not have this easy transition. I observed that the WEB leaders during my time in sixth grade did help with this transition, but make it seem like they were another teacher figure instead of a welcoming role model. I want to enforce the values of WEB and make it something that can be enjoyed and useful.
I am a good candidate to consider in order become WEB leader because of my leadership, experience, and knowledge and passion for abiding by the main principles of WEB. I hope these qualities are considered in my application positively and I am considered to be a WEB leader.
