My Experience Of Being Bilingual
Everyone has a talent or skill that they’re proud of, mine has to be being bilingual. Being bilingual can be very helpful not just to me, but to others as well. Speaking two languages can help me with any new career opportunities that would make me stand out and take me very far in life. I have worked really hard to get to where I am today. My family only spoke Spanish to me so I wasn’t able to learn English. My oldest sibling growing up didn’t speak English either. When I started elementary school I started to learn to learn the language. Everything was difficult for me, but throughout the years I got better in speaking, writing, and reading. At my school there’s programs for English Learners, which helped me with my speaking. It was …show more content…
In my school there’s a lot of peer pressure. Many of us can’t resist to what is said and we do what we observe. Majority of kids are not really inspired to be in a class, that can be one reason why they choose wise decisions. My role is to always convince them that education is very important, because education is very valuable. I know I have something that many people don’t have and I’m very grateful that I have this opportunity. I know for sure that variety of students think the same, but it’s challenging to show that you care when people around you don’t. That is a way to fit in for many of my classmates, but to me it’s different and that is what I’m trying to make everyone understand. Don’t take your education for …show more content…
History is filled with so many past memories and stories that haven’t been told. History has to be my favorite subject, it is very interesting and it is something that I like. History was not a subject I was very interested in but as the class continues it has become something that I’m very entertained with. When I was starting my Freshman year in High School I did not have a History class, and I didn’t think it was very important. Having more than one class of history is required to graduate so I knew I needed to take them. Now I would love to have honor and AP classes for my favorite academic subject. One of the main reasons why History is my favorite academic subject is because of my teachers. The way that they teach makes me feel very curious about the most tragic and wonderful times that happened in the past. My teachers have been in the same position that I was in the beginning of the year. History is something that we should all be happy to learn and we should value. The world has developed very much and we need to know how we got to where we’re at. History is an academic class I would like to major in when I continue my education once I’m out of High

Studying history is interesting to me because you can see the difference from other areas and eras and compare them to present day. I also love to learn about wars, why they started and how they changed the world. I don’t like how we never seem to get the full picture. Somebody’s side of the story is lost, or not told correctly. I would like it much more if we had more information about everything.…

If not for history we wouldn’t have a future or a past. America’s past impacts every aspect of my daily life. War is a part of our past and our present and possibly our future. We need to study the past just like people in the future are going to study the people of today. We want to be known and remembered like George Washington and the soldiers who fought right next to him were remembered.…

I have chosen to study History because I believe it is the most important and relevant subject there is. I have a desire to understand the social and economic processes that have produced modern society. History has fascinated me since early childhood, when I loved to visit museums and historical sites. As an academic subject, my love for History was triggered when I studied the Second World War as a 10 year old. I could not believe the immense impact it had on the world, and the sheer scale of it. It in turn had a huge impact on me, and consolidated my love for the subject.…

Throughout my entire life, I have been the outcast that loves history. I remember my peers being flourished by science, math, and art; subjects that didn’t interest me. A large part of what we talked about in American history 221 was slavery and Americas ability to over come slavery. Looking back at what our nation has overcome is an amazing thing, however it seems that most of what our nation has struggled with has been brought on by our own selves and our choices as a nation. Learning history is a wonderful way to not make the same mistakes twice. It teaches todays Americans not only what happened but also how our nation was founded and what kind of foundation America was built on.…

A unique part of my family heritage and culture is the ability of speaking Spanish. Being bilingual is something that I really appreciate to have because it gives me certain advantages when it comes to applying for jobs or helping others. For example, I was doing community service and there was a woman who need assistance, but she couldn't speak English well. Fortunately, I was able to help her and I felt proud for that. Nonetheless, approximately the same situations apply in school from time to time. In conclusion, I feel pleased for this ability to speak the Spanish language.…
