3.3 Investigation and analysis of family history (Plan Ahead) There were many different things about my family history because my parents both came from a different family background. The one thing my grandparents have in common is that they are Chinese. One different thing is that they are born in separate places. My grandparents on my father’s side were born in China then came to Burma, while my grandparents on my mother’s side were born in Burma. Another interesting thing they had in common is that they opened a coffee shop during their 20s. My grandparents on my father’s side were born in China. Then they came to Yangon, Burma to get better business. They opened a coffee shop in Yangon for about 30 years and moved to Mergui and opened a coffee shop there. Then they had eight children, my dad is the fourth oldest. The first baby they had was a daughter, and then they had three sons. After that they had a daughter again and had two more sons. Then in the end, they had one last daughter. All of them helped out in the coffee shop until they went away to Japan. The first one to go to Japan was the second youngest one in the family. He went to Japan to get a better education and returned after ten years with his wife. Four years after that, my oldest uncle also went to Japan to get better business and came back after five years. While he was still there, my father and mother got married. Then in 1995, my third uncle went to Japan also to get better business and came back after ten years. Then the youngest aunt went to Japan in the year 2000 to find better business and came back after five years. Then my youngest uncle went to Korea in 2001 to get better business with his wife.
