My Father Goes to Court
Broken Friendship Poem
This poem expresses what happens when a guy and girl friendship has to come to an end and proves that old saying "guys and girls can't be just friends"
Sunshine
© Kahlen
Who would have thought we'd be best friends?
Who would have known on you I could depend?
Who could have saw it would end so fast?
Now our strong bond remains in the past.
You were there for me as long as it worked for you.
I never realized how much I depended on you.
You've gotten lost in someone who is not worth your time.
I guess along the way I forgot you weren't "mine".
Now the person I thought you were has left my sight...
I swear, I tried so hard to keep us strong, I held with all my might.
When I finally got the nerve to tell you how it made me feel, you tried to keep your heart from seeing it was real.
You let me walk out of your life and you didn't even know.
I think inside you had convinced yourself I'd never go,
Everyone always says guys and girls can’t be just friends anymore.
We always used to laugh it off; I guess in our hearts we thought we were so sure...
Yet here I am, saying goodbye.
I gave it my all, I had to try, and though I'm still around and you see me every now and again soon you'll see... you've lost your best friend.

I'm Sorry Poem for Friends
A friend is left with sorrow, feeling sorry for a friendship past.

Once again I write to you
The sun is shining the sky is blue
And all I do is sit and think.....
Only about you without a blink

The days pass and the nights yearn
From all that has happened I wish I could learn
That life isn't always what you desire
It leaves you lost in flames of fire

You see your day and see it through
Knowing what I'm writing is all so true
You ignore the meaning of all of this
Thinking

Friendship is defined as a relationship between friends. In Shoe Horn Sonata, when Sheila and Bridie first meet, it seems unlikely that they will ever be friends. They are complete polar opposites. Sheila cynical statement ‘People always get on when they’re tossed in together. I’d hardly call that friendship.’, reinforces that Bridie and Sheila initially formed a friendship out of desperation to survive, not because there was mutual affection for each other. Bitter tone is utilised to convey Shelia’s survival instincts are prioritised over tender friendship.…

On a gloomy Saturday morning, a badly bruised and distraught Sally Richards stumbled into the doors of UC’s medical hospital, seeking assistance for the terrible incident that she experienced the night before. Standing in front of the triage desk, Sally explained to the hospital secretary how she was sexually assaulted and possibly raped by her ex-boyfriend the night before. Quickly, the hospital secretary called an expedient nurse from the back room and in a flash, Sally was suddenly brought to a private room. With Sally being instructed into the room, she noticed an individual standing across the medical room, who she later learned would be her advocate throughout her examination and during her court case. Throughout the duration of her stay, though distraught, Sally cooperated with the SANE nurses, especially with the physical evidence collection.…

After you left me all I was left with is shock and great grief I lost you, best friend. I just seem to can’t take in the fact that you left me all alone in this cold hard world and you are not by my side anymore. After you made become a walking zombie. I was too sad and depressed to eat or sleep; or even function right. You were my other half, my twin, but most importantly we were more then sisters. Our friendship could never compare to anything, we were thicker then a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We did EVERYTHING together. The love I have for you no one could ever replace…

When Geraldine returned to class after lunch, she didn’t complete her homework, which was to write a poem, because she was planning to do it during lunch at home. Unfortunately, it totally slipped her mind given the situation she just had to deal with. The teacher questioned Geraldine about her poem not being completed which was supposed to be based on what is it like to be alive in this glorious world. Geraldine almost started crying. Even though no one else knew how awful her life just became, Geraldine quietly expressed that nothing lovely has happened in her life. She was stating her real feelings that turned out to be a beautiful poem that couldn’t be made up. The concrete poem was created to represent how not all types of romance and affection are the same. In the poem, it talks about how getting to close and watering it too much will cause it to die and collapse. This is meant to show that showering someone with affection and being too clingy will cause the relationship to die/collapse. The tone of this poem is that all types of romance and friendship are valid. The concrete poem’s theme is that not everyone wants lots of affection and to give people space within…

This poem makes me think of my favorite book called The Perks Of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It is the story of a boy named Charlie and his not-so-average life. The story is written as letters to someone he has never met, but heard was a good shoulder to lean on. This book is my favorite because I can really relate to Charlie. Speaking of Charlie, that is my puppy's name. He is a chihuahua and dachshund mix. He is my best friend and is always at my side. He is probably the coolest puppy ever, except at three in the morning when he is sitting outside my door whining, then he can be someone else's best friend. This poem is probably one of my new favorites because it actually made me feel something and that is really important to me when reading. I really enjoy how the poet talks about words people never use because I have an extensive vocabulary, but rarely use any of the words I know because most people I know would not understand me at all. The reason I am so educated in words reminds me of my grandmother, who is one of the most intelligent people I know. When I was about six or seven, she would say words to me that no Kindergartner knows and I was expected to spell them. Most of the time, I was pretty close and when I got it right, she would tell me what the words meant. At that age, I was more interested in the taste of my boogers than in learning boring words I never thought would matter. Looking back, I cannot thank her enough for that small effort to help me in life. I am sure without her, I would be using words like "ain't" and phrases such as "don't got no" instead of knowing how to speak like a civilized human being. my grandma is awesome, and as soon as Meya (my daughter) starts school, I plan to use this same technique on her to ensure she grows up to make something of herself. Might as well end this with things about Meya. She is the most beautiful child, and she is so intelligent, it is…

It is about two people who have a lot in common but are too afraid to show their true colors. They looked for other people that were like them and they finally passed by each other and never knew that they were exactly alike. They were not being true to themselves therefore they missed out on an amazing encounter. The message I received from this poem is to always be true to yourself; never try and be someone else because you are unique and there are people who are looking for your unique personality. By being yourself you can be truly happy and find the people that are meant to be in your…
