My Favorite Season
My favorite Season
Winter is my favorite time during the year because the low temperature in the weather usually brings snow, and snow brings many pleasurable moments for a nine year old, and to be able to play in the snow on any given winter is certainly a high point. There are several things you can do on a cold snowy day like; make snow angels, build a perfect snowman and engage in the ultimate snowball fight with friends and family.
Making snow angels is the ideal way to spend a winter’s day in the snow. It is important to lie down in the snow on your back and spread your arms and legs out of your body you then move your arms and legs back and forth to make wings. This is how you make a snow angel, and you can make as many snow angels as you want. If you take a hard look, one might be waving at you.
The other activity that gets me excited for a snowy winter day is getting together with my family members to create the perfect snowman. To build a flawless snowman it is helpful to have the right kind of snow because if the snow is too dry, it will not hold together to make a ball. So, make sure you have plenty of wet packable snow to create the first ball at the bottom of the snowman. After creating the perfect ball you will need to create two more, one in the middle and one for the head. Stack the snowballs from the largest to the smallest and now it’s time to bring the snowman to life by adding eyes, a nose, a mouth, and use a stick for the arms, dress him up in a hat and a scarf and once the snowman is finished; we take pictures with it.
The final best time the winter season brings is the chance to participate in a snowball fight. This fun activity is only available during the winter season. Wow! The joy of ducking and dodging to land that perfect hit in your opponents face is definitely a reason to look forward to winter. I enjoy making snow balls, to make them; you have to put snow in your hands and pat it down so you can throw it, and the fight

To celebrate my victory I spin in circles on my board. Moving my balance from both feet to my right foot the front of my board rises off the snow. While still spinning, I reach my right hand back to the tail of my board. The nose of the board elevates higher into the air. I can hear Alex getting closer. With the launch of one snowball I am thrown to the ground. My shoulder hits first. The impact doesn’t hurt but is enough momentum to make me slide down the powdered…

"Gryphon" is a short story by Charles Baxter that was published in 1985. The first person point of view Baxter chose allows us to understand the story better. It also allows Tommy to portray his personal feelings toward his substitute teacher, Miss Ferenczi. The diction Baxter uses for Miss Ferenczi is rather interesting. Sometimes, when she talks to the children, she uses words that most forth grade children wouldn't understand. Our understanding of why Baxter chose her complex and confusing diction is to expand the minds of the students. Miss Ferenczi changed Mr. Hibler's forth grade students.…

All of the seasons are great. Winter is really fun with Christmas and the snow. Fall is also great because of the leafs and football games. But I would have to say that my favorite season of all is summer. Summer is the best, it is baseball season I love to play baseball I have been playing baseball ever since I was a kid. Baseball is the my second favorite sport (First is football). Baseball is you just play the game and have fun. Even if you are losing it is still great to be out on a baseball field having fun with your friends. For example this year my freshman baseball was pretty good but not the best. There were some games we won and some games we lost. It's always fun to win. But even when you do lose you still have a great time out on a baseball field with your team.…

Real snow provides a more authentic experience for skiers and has minimal differences from man-made snow. Natural snow forms from microscopic ice crystals within the clouds. Man-made snow is composed of multiple ice droplets that lack a defined shape and is differentiable in texture from that of natural snow. When snow machines are turned on, the moisture from the air is combined with the snow being made, resulting in the snow containing more moisture than real snow. As temperatures drop towards freezing, the moisture content increases, making the snow increase in density. The higher water content means the snow will be densely packed, resulting in a higher probability…

On the other hand, people are a lot more cautious during the winter season. Drivers also increase the distance between each other, to increase reaction time and prevent rear-ending one another. The hazardous conditions are beneficial because drivers will only go out to collect supplies they need. One more good quality about winter is salt for your driveway is super cheap to purchase. Jim couldn’t wait to show Sean how to build the perfect snowman so he begins right away. Now their snowman needs three main body parts his legs, chest, and head. To make each body part they mold a small ball of snow in their hands and place it on the ground. Then begin to roll the ball around allowing it to gather up snow gradually getting larger. Jim Made sure not to roll it in a straight line since it might end up with a soup can shape snowball. They made sure their first ball for the legs was as big as Sean. Now repeat the process of molding the ball and rolling it to create the three body parts with one large and the rest gradually getting smaller. Lifting the chest snowball onto the leg snowball was difficult considering the size of my snowballs but Jim managed. Now they have the legs, body, and head with a perfect size deduction going from legs to head. Sean was filled with so much excitement seeing this large snow creature in almost full form.…

    Winter Storm

Snowstorms are storms where large amounts of snow fall. Snow is less dense than liquid water, by a factor of approximately 10 at temperatures slightly below freezing, and even more at much colder temperatures.[citation needed] Therefore, an amount of water that would produce 0.8 in. (2 cm.) of rain could produce at least 8 in (20 cm) of snow. Two inches of snow (5 cm.) is enough to create serious disruptions to traffic and school transport (because of the difficulty to drive and maneuver the school buses on slick roads). This is particularly true in places where snowfall is uncommon but heavy accumulating snowfalls can happen (e.g., Atlanta, Seattle, London, Dublin, Canberra, Vancouver and Las Vegas). In places where snowfall is common, such as Utica, Detroit, Denver, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, NY, Toronto and Minneapolis, such small snowfalls are rarely disruptive, because winter tires are used, though snowfalls in excess of 6 in (15 cm) usually are.…
