My Favourite Holiday
MY FAVOURITE HOLIDAY I like going to London because it is so unlike my hometown Sungai Petani. While Sungai Petani is low-lying being situated in a valley about an hour’s travel from the air, London is a country that offer visitors surrounds world. First, there is Buckingham Palace. No trip to London is complete without going out to the highest point by trom. It’s an exciting ride, as I can see policeman on both side as the palace in the town. When I reach the speak , my heart beats wildly in anticipation of the awesome view I will get of the of the Straits o English. The ships in the horizon seem to be moving so slowly and the water is such as an inviting blue that often feel like leaping into it. Another place in London is Shakespeare Town which I find irrestable is the city. Though I enjoy admiring the colour and social of the people, I prefer seeing the chattering peoples of which the city. The are so tame that all the visitors are unafraid of then and be enjoy get used to seeing then wander freely all over the place However ,these peoples pale in interest compared to the social activity of the famous town of London. Unlike Christopher Colombus, I find the place that have a good peoples, so I go there whenever I get a chance. Most of the time, I have to go there alone. But I find watching the beautiful place a real beautiful place a real treat as they lazily entwine themselves round the twigs and brandles of the plants. Finally, I love London because it is the home of Uncle Adam and Aunt Hanna. The always look forward to my visits, just as much as I long to go there after a long hard year of school, they are maevellous hosts and know when to entertain me and when to leave me alone. They let me wander round the streets of London without worrying about me too much, something that my over-protective mother never lets me do in Sungai

Skrzynecki’s “Feliks Skrzynecki” effectively conveys the notion that an individual’s sense of ‘place’ and belonging is tied to their relationship with the physical environment. In the poem Feliks is portrayed as lacking a close connection to the Australian culture, it is instead his garden where he finds his sense of place, he “Loved his garden like an only child... swept its paths ten times around the world”. Skrzynecki has used a hyperbole to demonstrate how much time Feliks spends in his garden as well as how his garden shares his identity as he travels across the world. By characterising Feliks’ relationship with his garden as a family relationship through the simile ‘like an only child’ the poet effectively highlights how belonging to physical place can take on equal importance as familial relationships in finding our sense of place and belonging.…

Alex can't say the word beautiful because during his adolescence in Motherwell, he hasn't seen any signs of beauty. The director uses, especially Alex, to criticise the modern big cities. The brings up the contrast of beauty in the landscape and ugliness in the towns. 'Trainspotting' shows some of the same things, but of course brings up the problem of the rising usage of drugs in Scotland, mainly in the larger cities.…

The daily scream therapy of my neighbour in the shower does not fail to act as an alarm clock every morning. This daily “alarm clock” was a good enough reason to not succumb into the pressure of calling the police. The rhythmic sound of everyone’s steps outside gave birth to the gravel, small as peas which moved beneath their feet and from it a faint dust rose, the perfume of the town. This perfume I had to get used to now, this perfume I will smell for the years to come. This foreign town was now my new home, away from all the sadness, unfulfilled relationships and the past, a town full of versatile people, some doctors, some painters, some chocolatiers and some farmers, all with big houses towering over them. A town still rich with bicycles and kids playing in the streets early in the morning, the streets filled with the aroma of bread this all felt very new to me, I was a city dweller, this made me feel great unease.…

By this time, my parents had quit their jobs working in a restaurant and had transitioned to another job. I spent a very large portion of my time living here, and despite us having the most unpleasant neighbours you can imagine, it was quite nice. By this time, I was old enough to go to town by myself with some friends, so after learning the way, I went with my friends. The whole setting of Aldershot depends a colossal amount, as some parts can be very clean, pleasant whilst others are quite the opposite, although I suppose you could say this about most towns. With Aldershot being a small town, there wasn't really much you could do there, so we took pleasure in the little things in life such as visiting the forest around the Wellington Statue and exploring just about every place we could think of. There weren't many options in terms of schools in my area, so this meant that many of my friends who lived near me also attended the same school as me so that meant that I would go to town quite frequently since my parents didn't need to drive me to their…
