My Favourite Places
My favourite place

There are many interesting places in this world. Most of us will prefer beautiful place as Coliseum in Italy or Taj Mahal in India as their favourite place but I choose a tree house that I call “Kassim’s Palace”. It takes its named after the name of my late grandfather. This place is very meaningful to me because I have many memories with my grandfather at this place. The Kassim’s Palace is situated in the trees behind my grandfather’s house.

The Kassim’s Palace was built by my lovely grandfather when I was six years old. It was built by using wood. The walls of the tree house were painted brown as the colour of the trunk. When viewed from ground, the tree house looks like the branches of the tree. The roofs are made of zinc to avoid the rain to wet the resident. This tree house can accommodate one adult and one child.

Furthermore, this place has always been a fortress for me when my mother scolded me. I will hide here until the anger subside my mother. Grandpa is the salt of the earth. He was the only person who knows where I was hiding. When he found me, he will bring me home and asks me to apologize to my mother. Sometimes I would sleep in there and enjoy the sound of rain beats like bullets on the roof when it rains.

Besides, I like this place because it is unique. It is not just the usual tree house but unusual. There is a small-sized 14-inch television, a kitchen to cook, a fan that can be recharge and a single mattress in the tree house. Kassim’s Palace is small but has the equipment that is needed by its resident. One of best thing about this place is I can climb up to the top of the tree easily with the help of stairs that made to go to the tree house. When I climb to the top of the tree, I can see the sunrise and sunset which is so beautiful with the golden rays. I am over the moon to see the sights that can calm the soul from there.

At present, the Kassim’s Palace was old and almost collapsed. The roof has leaked and the

It can also be a place to reconnect with nature.” There were two sides of how the forest/ jungle can be explained. [It is] the most beautiful place! It is quite alone, standing well back from the road, quite three miles from the village. The house was built between 1983 and 1986 by architects, University Professor Joseph Krawina and Peter Pelikan. It features uneven floors (kurdii - a melody to the feet.) A roof covered with earth and grass, and large trees growing from inside the rooms, with branches extending from windows. Hundertwasser always said the work that he did was to prevent something ugly from going up in its place. Within the house there are 52 apartments, four offices, 16 private terraces and three communal terraces, and a total of 250 trees and bushes. The Hundertwasser House is one of Austria's most visited buildings and has become part of Austria's cultural heritage.…

It has a dirt floor and a thatch roof. He builds it with no intentions of making it his permanent residence, and writes that he could easily take it apart and move it elsewhere. However small his hut is, he constructs everything he needs; a verandah, eaves extending three feet to provide space for firewood and cooking, a shelf for his “Buddhist articles” (on the western end; possibly to face Amida, the Buddha of the west), a place to sleep, an image of Amida on the wall, a place for his poetry, Buddhist, and music books, and a place for his musical instruments. He builds his hut in a dense forest which surrounds it on all sides except for the western side. This, he writes, provides him with a “clear view” and “is some aid to my meditation.” Along with the boughs of wisteria that are like “purple clouds,” this is another reference to…

Walking up to the beautiful and luxurious house, you could smell the scent of roses and the welcome the birds give you to invite in the morning. The massive garden filled with wildlife and fountains along with many other treasures making it one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. The gardens are layered with snow during winter with horse drawn carriages to take a midnight ride in and during the fall they are covered with decorations and offer a prize for the best costume during the October days; these fun times are what makes this place so magical to not just me but for everyone.…

There is a place in Spotsylvania that I call home. This place is a safe haven for me when I am tired, stressed, or if I need anything. When I’m tired there is a bed for me to take naps or sleep through the night in. If stressed there is plenty of comfort food in the fridge, or cabinets. There is also many different things in the housed for whatever you may need. I find myself most comfortable in my room. I could be in bed, my chair, the floor, even doing makeup too, but I will still be in total comfort. Almost anyone is welcome in my home, as long as you are respectful, without problem.…

What I found very interesting was that in the corner of the property, there was majestic tree and a statue of the Buddha at its foot. On the surrounding wall there were posters with drawings and text explaining the story of the Buddha. At the entrance of the temple were two golden lions but they were just there to enhance the beauty of the temple. There was a big wooden door that led inside and the temple itself was surrounded by flowers, plants and trees. This alos gave the…

Apart from the trees that line the drive way creating a boulevard, there is bougainvillea hanging on the high walls. Lemon grass shrubs scatter on the background of carpet grass while few orange and mango trees litter the compound. Though I grew up with my siblings in the lodge, we cannot claim complete knowledge of it. As children, we discover new hiding places anytime we play “catch”. It was exhilarating.…

This magnificent five-storey palace was designed and built by two skillful local carpenters known only as Tukang Kahar and Tukang Taib (Tukang in Malay literally means carpenter or craftsman but when it becomes a proper name and a title it indicates a highly skillful one). Its construction was started in 1902 and completed in 1908. The timber palace was built using tropical hardwood called chengal which was harvested from a forest in Bukit Pergai, Jelebu and transported about 64km to Seri Menanti. No wonder it took 6 years to be completed.…
