Descriptive Essay: My First Car
English 093
My First Car I finally saved up enough money to buy myself a car, so I set out to track it down. My journey started out on a spring day, when the trees started to grow leaves shading the sun over my house. First, I drove to the store to get a newspaper, for I had already spotted a potential lead a few weeks back. As I searched through the classified section, I had my fingers crossed. I immediately spotted it. Because I had saved a pile of cash through the winter, I could afford it. I viciously dialed the number; then, there was an answer and the man invited me right over. I was surprised. Not long after I spoke with the man, I arrived at what appeared to be a repair shop; then, the man rolled up the huge bay door. There in all its glory rested a 1995 Honda Civic Del Sol. The car had just received a brand new florescent blue specialized protective flexible coating. On either side of the car, I could not find an imperfection. As I walked around the finely crafted automobile, I noticed the metallic ghost flames protruding through the flawless bodywork. An authentic wings west body kit wrapped its shell; this made the tiny car seem monstrous. A custom carbon fiber hood lay between the two carefully positioned Z3 fenders. All four seventeen inch ADR wheels had been polished to perfection. After that, I opened the driver door to find an immaculate interior. Each piece of this machine had been handpicked, from the Momo Steering wheel to the Tenzo quick shifter in the center. Once I eased into the bright red Sparco seat, I noticed the eight-inch custom molded pioneer TV. I snatched the hood release, and hopped out of the car. I casually walked to the front of the compact sports car, meanwhile my heart started to pound as if it were planning to pop out of my chest with anticipation of what lay beneath the feather like hood. I found a JDM D15B shinning, as if it just came out of the crate. Although this was slightly

One would think that since Henry and Lyman both worked so hard that they would have a car. Lyman says, "Don't ask me why, because we never mentioned a car or anything, we just had all our money" (Lamartine, 365). It was not until they saw this red convertible that they decided to purchase a vehicle. Lyman was very excited the first time he saw the red convertible. The brothers had been to busy working and living their day to day lives that they did not spend much time together but this red convertible was the rebirth or start of something new for them. Lyman felt as if the car was alive.…

Mary Sadie is a thirteen years old, 2004, champagne colored, Honda Accord. The chipped champagne paint covering her body is fading but Mary Sadie is brighter than ever in my eyes. Over the past two years, my car and I have experienced road trips across the Causeway, to Baton Rouge, to the beach, through the broken roads of Lakeview, and countless trips to the French Quarter, which have truly strengthened our bond with each other. Just because a car is old and used, does not mean that it sucks, is one of the many valuable lessons that I have learned from owning my first car, along with many adventurous experiences that I will cherish for my entire life.…

I find my position on this subject to be sympathetic. I imbue personality into personal possessions, especially the cars and trucks I have owned, and after a time, I view them as more than just a mode of transportation. This video was targeted at sympathetic consumers. The automobile holds a special place in the hearts of Americas, it represents our freedom, and is often an outward expression of how we view ourselves.…

Cars were exceptionally important in everyone’s daily lives. With the invention of cars, people had a means of transportation and saved a lot of time. However, in the beginning, cars were a pain to put together. The process of creating an automobile was costly and time consuming, because manufacturers did not have an easy way to put the vehicles together. It took half a day just to put one car together. However, all of that changed when Henry Ford came along.…

When the Ford Mustang went on sale it quickly became the fastest-selling car in history. So it was no wonder that Ford’s rivals wanted to enjoy the same sort of success with their own ‘pony cars’, and GM’s take on the formula was the Pontiac Firebird (alongside the Chevrolet Camaro). While it was the Camaro that arrived first, the Firebird carried a higher price and was more highly equipped – which is why twice as many Camaros were produced. Nowadays, both cars have a following, often brought about by each car’s exposure in the media. In the case of the Firebird it was the 1978 film Smokey and the Bandit that turned the Trans Am into an icon, which is why these later cars with their black and gold colour schemes are now among the most sought…

Today, Fords are all over the road, big and small, gas and deisel, of every generations from the past 5 or so generations. Seeing these old Ford pickups on the road proves that no matter the amount of hatred towards Ford from some people, they are very reliable. Not only that, but they come in a very wide variety to fit the customer’s needs and/or wants. Thanks to just a spark of creativity and “outside of the box” thinking, Henry Ford made all this possible since 1903 and for the years to…

Thirty minutes later, however, Jackie’s silver Mustang convertible swung into our driveway, and Jackie was leaning on the horn before the car came to a full stop. My first car was a bit of a roller coaster, I had just learned to drive the year before and now it was time for me to have my own car. I would say the excitement I felt was overwhelming but even that might understate it just a little. The search began on a Sunday morning we went to several different dealerships, in search of the right mix of economy and style. Well, to be honest my mom was mostly interested in the economy part. The first dealership we went the car salesman seemed like the kind of over eager vacuum salesman you see on those old TV shows. The guy was just ridiculous, with his hair slicked back, and his slacks which were so tight he could start a fire. Every time he would show us a car I thought he was going to start a fire.…

When I was in highschool, I had a ’65 Chevy C-10. That truck was my baby, and I had rebuilt it over several years with my dad. It had a monster of an engine, and definitely made heads turn. People could hear me coming from a mile away. However, the truck had some minor faults, like a non-functioning air conditioner or a couple dings in the paint. It wasn’t until I graduated that the engine reared its ugly head. As I was driving one summer day, the engine caught fire and I lost all of my work in a flash.…

The time when my fifteen year old daughter wrecked my car. On this day I had a doctors appointment so I decided to pick Brittany up from school and take her with me. We arrived at the doctor's office on time, now keep in mind it's cold in most doctor's office, so I suggested that if she got cold she could go set in the car so I gave her my keys. The nurse called back to see the doctor, Brittany remained in the waiting area. Twenty minutes had pasted and the nurse was knocking on the examination room door, I stated "come in", the nurse opened the door and Brittany was standing there looking like she had seen a ghost, she was shaking and crying, however, she didn't make a sound. By this time I'm nervous and really need to know what happen. Brittany couldn't speak the nurse went to get her some water to com her down. I started thinking what could this child have done in twenty minutes of being out of my site.…

“I DON’T CARE MOM!” I screamed at the top of my lunges. We were driving along I-95 on the sway home from my successful driver's license test. I was 16. I was normal. The radio played in the background but it couldn’t be heard over my mom yelling. This was the same crap I dealt with every day. I could have sworn that woman tried to find something to fight over: this time it was about how I should, “be more responsible” and “find a job” and “needing to grow up!”…
