Why is everyone so stressed out about their first date? That’s an easy question. Everything depends how the first date goes to determent either you like that person or not. It’s like a test for the rest of the relationship. That’s why everybody wants, to make it original, special and a pretty moment that they could remember. Mine was all those things.
Last year, in New Year’s Eve, my best friend Omar and I had a date. He invited me to his family reunion at his house. At first I felt weird; I never had a first date at anyone’s house. Plus, he was my best friend that I recently discovered I liked, so was really nervous. But when I arrived I acted natural. I met his mother, a really nice lady, easy to talk to, maybe too easy; she was always talking to me. She made situation comfortable, I think she liked me and it was a good sign. And then I spent some time with his sister, she is a big fan of Justin Bieber and that was all that she talked about. She was really funny. Then I met his grandmother and his aunts. They were all really nice, and I started to like them.
After I met everybody, they went to eat dinner. I ate at my aunt’s house earlier so wasn’t very hungry. Omar just want it to be with me so he didn’t either. His family left us alone and I started to get nervous again. I talk and I talk, and I didn’t shut up. All he did was listen and laugh at me. When I finally shut up, there was a moment of silence. I started to stare at him, and realize, he had beautiful green eyes and they were looking at me. Then he grabs my hand slowly, and my chick turned red. I didn’t know what to say, I felt nervous. It was almost midnight, exactly11:55pm. He took me to the roof of his house so we could see the New Year’s fireworks better. Omar was holding my hand all the time.
