My Four-Wheeler Accident
Ever had that feeling of adrenaline rush through your body? It’s a wonderful sensation that most people are afraid of, but I live for it. Whether it’s riding fast on jet skis and being air born from the waves, diving off cliffs, or doing any other crazy thing I love that rush of adrenaline. I never realized how much of a dare-devil until July 7, 2006, the day I had my four-wheeler accident.
The day started off wonderfully. A few of my relatives and I were in Pickwick, Tennessee at my nanny’s lake house for summer vacation. We all woke up to a delicious family breakfast. My nanny woke my cousins and I up just like old times. She walked in the room, sat on the bed and said, “Rise and shine sleeping beauty.” Then of course my grandfather yelled through the house, “Wake your butts up breakfast is getting cold.” We had everything: sunny side eggs, smoked bacon, salty country ham, all kinds of juicy fruit, hot cakes, sugary waffles, and every flavor muffin you could possibly think of. It was so mouth-watering; my taste buds were on a rollercoaster.
After breakfast, the parents went out on the lake to have “adult time.” So my cousins and I decided to go riding back in the woods. Chelsea and I were doing wheelies on the four-wheelers. Wheelies are so fun; I get the feeling of butterflies in my stomach every time I do them. Jessica was riding her four-wheeler backwards. Johnathan was doing tricks on his dirt bike. We were doing all kinds of tricks and cool things. We even had races to see who could go the fastest. Then we found a spot in the dirt that was really wet. We saw that is was safe, so we started playing around in it. We did what most people call “mudding.” We all had a blast until Johnathan flooded his engine, and Chelsea started complaining about having mud all over her. So they decided to go home and let Jessica and I keep riding.
Since Jessica and I were by ourselves, we went back to riding on the road in front of the lake house.

It was a boring summer day. My cousin Henry, Jake, and myself decided to go shoot BB guns at the old Nike site, which was now a park. We climbed up to the top of the abandoned radar tower with our BB guns and pretending to be sharp shooters, we shot the BB guns at three cans we lined up on the ground. Some kids from the neighborhood adjacent to ours came to the same park with fireworks. We climbed down to meet them. They shared their fireworks with us and we shared our BB guns with them. We were having a blast throwing the bottle rockets and fire crackers off the tower. We giggled at the pop which echoed around the park. The neighbors, whose houses backed up to the park, did not enjoy our early fourth of July show. A few minutes later we saw…

It was a beautiful July day in 2014 when my family and I were camping at Holland Lake with our family friends Kinsey and Lauren. There wasn't a cloud in sight and the sun reflected off the bluish greenish water. The air smelt of smoke and fresh trees. Early in the morning when the campground is quiet you can even hear the waterfall. Holland Lake is a very busy lake with boaters, tubers, water skiers, ect. Since that day was so nice there were a bunch of boats on the lake the waves were huge. Kinsey, Lauren, Alex and I were all pretty close in age but Alex and Lauren were taller so they get the outside of the tube. When we all finished breakfast I changed into my swimming suit speedy fast and rode my bike as fast as I could to my cousins camper, Alex. I had to wait what felt like 5 hours for her to change. Once she was done we waited for Kinsey and Lauren at ¨The Beach¨. Alex and I killed time by talking about how much fun we were going to have…

Every morning, I would always wake up before anybody to go outside and pick out what we needed for breakfast. I would get on a chair in the kitchen and put it to the counter tops and I would climb to get my brown basket to put my eggs and veggies in. The night before, my aunt would always pre made the coffee and when getting down from the counter tops and I would put the lid down to the coffee maker so it was ready when everyone woke up for breakfast.…

The summer following my sixth grade year was full of kick the can, capture the flag, ghost in the graveyard, and many more games played with the neighborhood kids. Some games got out of hand at times. As I tried to tag Conner to stop him from scoring in our little game of capture the ball, I seemed to forget I had a tree in the middle of my yard and I ran straight into it. Once during a competition of “America’s Got Talent” Logan mooned all of us, leaving us girls petrified. Then one hot summer night I was running the bases as we continued our game of whiffle ball while Trenton started to pee in the open onto our homemade bases made of rocks... he didn’t receive chocolate chip cookies with the rest of us that night. Out of all our eventful times the one I treasure most is when we set up our own little camp site. We found two tents and connected them both in my backyard. We slept outside, one tent for the boys and one for the girls. Eventually the boys got scared by a gunshot we heard in the distance so they joined us but were kept at a distance by my mother who kept an eye on us that night. Long games of truth or dare were…

The best part of the day had arrived, dinner. We had a reservation at the pier in which we were going to eat dinner. We looked like a whole bunch of bees ready to attack. The food was there. Right in front of our noses. We could feel the presence of the warmth coming from the food. The smell was just making our mouths water and our tummies rumble. We looked at each other with such eagerness to have some of those explicit desserts in our mouths. There we were, with our food served and ready to attack. I knew that when I was done with this food there was no longer going to be any space for the dessert. Overall the food was amazing and the experience as well.…

Once I was done with breakfast I met up with my friends up on the fourth floor. Once we got up there a counselor walked us over to the OAP. When we got there we figured out we were going canoeing. We loaded up the canoes and then we headed to the sturgeon river. Once we got there we unloaded the canoes and then we got in partners of two. My canoeing partner was Joe. We got started and then everyone was splashing each other. Joe and I kept splashing Robby and Khauldon but after a while, our teachers told us to stop. The canoeing became a race after a while I made it up to second place. We ended up finishing in second place at the end. We got done and loaded up the canoes and headed back. When we got back we unloaded the canoes and then headed back to campus. That night I hung with Nick and Jack in Jack’s room. After we were up there for a while we decided to go down and play pool. Then we went upstairs and went to…

It was a cool summer evening going into senior year with a slight breeze sliding over our scalps. The branches were swaying ever so calmly at the park on the Texas Track. I was with my cousin James who I always looked up too growing up, but now resented. He was the kid who always knew what to say and had a demeanor that was cool to the touch. With the long hair, gauges, and cool skate clothes. I wanted to be just like that. I was raised in private school so I had no sense of style, seeing what he wore and what he did really had an impression on me. He said there was going to be a party and wanted me to go with him. I was really bored and decided to give it a shot.…

“Wooooshhhhh!!!” At blast off, California Screamin, took us through twists and turns, with an upside down loop. People were screaming their lungs out when the steel roller coaster soared into the air like a rocket. The terrifying speed made my toes curl and the strong wind pushed my head against the rubber black seat. I cried bloody murder on the coaster as it fell plumb down almost touching the ground. All too soon, it was over. After I got off of the thrill ride, I found my haggard look with disheveled hair through a snapshot picture. This is simply too awful to contemplate.…

My life is very dull, and when a fun moment happens it is very easy to remember it. One such time was when my friend Payton Holm and I went around Royalton on Halloween. A week before Halloween we agreed togo walk in town.On the afternoon of Halloween I went to my Grandma’s house to get something to eat for the shenanigans later. Payton Holm is my best friend from school, and we have been friends since 1st grade. I agreed to meet him at 4:30 after school in my Grandma’s driveway. I walked into the driveway at precisely 4:20, in case he came early. The driveway is old, with some uneven spots. The large white pine swayed in the little wind there was. I was calmly standing there until I heard something.I did not know what it could be, it sounded…
