My Generation Research Paper

My generation is the IPod generation, the cell phone generation, the Facebook and Twitter generation- one that speaks best through technology. That is how our voices are heard: through texts, messages, tweets, and blogs. My generation is quite different than any other generation in a few ways and I am like the generation in some ways, but I am also completely different in other ways.
This generation does not believe in being tied to one location or tradition, while the “Mad Men’ were tied to their offices, and the farmers tied to their fields, our generation is tied to wherever technology can take us. The world tells us that we have to do this, and we have to do that. So, we do it. Like we HAVE to go to college, we HAVE to get married. So, we do it. We don’t have to do any of it, but we do it anyways. It is what we are told to do.
Once you get our generation out in the real world to try speaking for ourselves, they can’t do it. Online they are a completely different person. We take things in a completely different perspective than how it used to be, and how I believe it should still be. There are a few ways that I am just like the rest of my generation, and that mainly is the technology dependency. Like I stated before we rely on the media to shape us, we could be completely different people than in real life, and that is why they made “Catfish,” a show. The internet shapes us. How it shapes us? There are many different ways. They shape us with pictures of how we should look, pictures of how we should act, pictures we ‘share’ or ‘upload’, how people perceive what we are saying and so
