My Goals in Nursing
Dritan Sali

My goals in nursing are to graduate with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and work in hospital. The Holy Family University accelerated program will help me finish the BSN program, which will prepare me as I graduate to be a nurse generalist to provide professional nursing in a variety of areas. After graduation, I would like to work as a staff nurse on a surgical floor for couple years and move to intensive critical care unit( ICU) because I like the challenge of taking care of critically ill patients in an acute care setting. Like a nurse using the healing skills to provide the one to one care that patients deserve, I would like to get the satisfaction of the frontline caregiver. Knowing that average length of stay of patients in hospital is declining and hospitals are starting to become large intensive care units, with cardiac monitoring, respiratory assistance, and the intense treatment will be a growing part of the average patient’s care the skilled. Therefore, specialized nurses will be in a great demand. I believe this program will help me achieve these goals by providing me with appropriate evidence –based knowledge and increasing my assessment skills. This knowledge will help my daily work to maximize my patient’s functional abilities, to promote, to maintain health, to prevent and minimize disabilities, to promote death with dignity, and provide excellent communication skills for one-to-one relationship with individual patients.

The reason that I am applying to Holy Family University is that the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth who founded the University established at the very core of this institution the respect for every individual and the dignity for very human person. These values that are taught in this institution are values that I grew up .Therefore, I would like to have the opportunity to pursue my dream for the RN-BSN program in institution who guides the programs with the concern for social

During my time at Rasmussen I have taken my studies very seriously and have earned Honor Roll. However, my educational and career goals surpass that of which Rasmussen can provide for me. I hope to first achieve an AS at USF and then to be granted into the AS-MS Accelerated Graduate Program. I know that the program is very competitive, but with the resources provided at USF, I know I can excel. I hope that my strong desire for success shines through what I have written here and that you take my awards, honors, and applicable skills into consideration when deciding on my admission status. I can assure you that if I am admitted into USF, I will always grant my classes (as well any extracurricular activities) my upmost attention and full effort at all…
