My experience in Asia showed my how rich their culture is as i was able to visit the temples in beijing such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace. I realize the amount of history that the people of Asia have as they are one of the oldest recorded histories in the world. I also had the opportunity to visit the city of Xian where i encountered the Terracotta Warriors and their horses. I was impressed by how each one of the warriors were completely different from one another varying in size, width, and even expressions. Each warrior even had a weapon that seemed personalized by the clay figures. After I had the unique opportunity to visit another wonder of the world and walk along the Great Wall located in the District of Huairou, Beijing where i realized the impressive size and the amount of work that was put into building that great wall. Another impacting experience i have was flying throughout Vietnam, where people in the plane would take off their shoes and put their feet on the armrest of the passenger in …show more content…
One of my favorite memories of Australia was riding around the Great Barrier Reef in a boat with a transparent bottom where i could see all of the different types of coral and creatures living in the largest structure of live in the world. When the boat stopped on top of a giant structure of coral we got out and snorkeled throughout the mass of coral and i was impacted by the abundance of live that was at the depths of the ocean. During the span of this trip i was able to visit the Sydney Opera house and royal Botanic garden. I was able to take a seaplane ride over some of the 74 islands of the Whitsundays and also fly over melbourne in a hot air balloon. I also visited Kangaroo Island which impacted me on how brave the kangaroos are and how close they will get. Sometimes i would find a couple relaxing on the porch of my room. One of my favorite experiences in Australia was landing on top of a volcano in a helicopter and walking along its surface as i watched lava seep out of it not too far from where i was standing. The next day i flew to a glazier and once i stepped out of the helicopter i witnessed the strength of nature and how incredibly strong it was as the ice was even capable of breaking through some of the rock in the mountain along

In my opinion bilingualism plays a major role in the educational development of children. This is because research has shown that children who are fluent in their home language are more successful in learning a second language. Furthermore, being bilingual offers greater sensitivity to language, more flexibility in thinking and better ear for listening. It also improves a child’s understanding for the native language. Moreover, knowledge of other languages increases a career of opportunities offering several job options.…

Some people say that the journey is the destination. That was very true for our trip. We stopped at many wonderful and exciting places along the way, such as an abandoned salt mine in Kansas where we were able to venture deep into the mine. That was a strange and unique experience for me. We also stopped in Tulsa, Oklahoma to see the University of Tulsa. I actually got to go play around on their real game field. That was one of the coolest things that I have ever been able to do on a college campus. We also went to see Mount Rushmore for a second time. It was just as majestic and breathtaking the second time around. It truly is one of the…

One warm summer day my family was frantically rushing to gather all our belongings for a week long adventure out west. We were trying our best to squeeze every item in the car; finally we were ready to depart from home. I was just fourteen years of age at the time and had never been more than a few states away. The ride there was beyond exciting, but extra long. I believe most of that was due to the anticipation of when we would finally reach the great state of Colorado.…

I grew up in the bilingual programs available in El Paso during the 1980’s. While Spanish was my first language, we came to live in the US when I was three. I was able to experience bilingual education and all it’s drawbacks since kindergarten. It was a very different experience for me to be able to learn subject matter in both languages, while Spanish to this day is still the sole language in my parents home.…

It was a scorching summer day in Las Vegas and my dad and I were meandering around the city in awe of the size of everything. We were acutely aware that we had overdressed for the weather, having just left a chilly Illinois. It was the hottest place to which I had ever been. The both of us, father and son, were going to meet up with my grandpa to go to the Grand Canyon for one of the greatest trips ever. We were going white water rafting on the Colorado River for eight days.…

I am the one in the picture with the sloppy bun in my hair and the bright red cheeks. The one who can't stop smiling. With all my friends surrounding me, it was one of the best days of my life. All fifteen of us look happy; it was a night for many smiles. Everyone is crowded around the table. There are a lot of red cheeks in the picture; the room was as hot as a sauna. There was a strong smell of barbeque sauce in the air as well. The picture was taken right after dinner. The table we are crowded around is messy. There are a lot of cups on the table and bottles of ketchup and barbeque sauce, with dirty, green napkins piled up. The restaurant was as noisy as the circus when the clowns perform. There were a lot of pictures taken that night, but out of all the pictures, this is the best one taken of everyone. Crouched down in front is Brent Dana. He has a grin on his face more than a smile. Brent hates pictures, and he doesn't smile in any of them; he is wearing his red "Rag Tails" shirt that he always wears. Next to Brent is Jade Walker. She has her hair back and is wearing her red "North Face" jacket. Jade has an adorable smile on her face. Next to Jade is Mary Attaway leaning over the table wearing a flowered backless shirt with a black sweater. To the right of Mary is Laura Jones. Laura is slightly leaning her head toward her right shoulder and is wearing a blue shirt with a drawstring tie in front. Laura has her arm around Erica Farnsworth, who has a yellow shirt and white jacket on. She looks especially happy; she is smiling from ear to ear. Starting in the left hand comer (in row two) are Chad Phillips and Caitlin Pollock standing together. Chad has his arms around Caitlin's waist. He has this cute little grin, and Caitlin has a huge smile and rosy red cheeks. Brittany Wilkins is next to Caitlin with a puzzled look on her face, the face you would see in a hard Algebra II exam when you don't think you even learned what the question is asking. To the top right of…

Bullets traveling over two thousand feet per second and having more energy than one normal person can perceive. Can you imagine tracking where, how, when, and what from angle this bullet was shot. Ballistic scientists can. Ballistics is the study of any projectile used as a weapon. This can certainly make or break a case involving a gun. Great ballistic scientists can even provide how far the bullet was shot from before it makes contact with the target. To me this is one of the most important tools in a case where a firearm is used.…

Burger King or McDonalds? In the United States, these two companies equally compete for consumers. Americans usually favor one company over the other or just choose to eat at whichever is more convenient to them. For the American people, Burger King is as common of a household name as McDonalds. However, in Japan, the Burger King brand is one that is not very well known. Burger King has been trying to tap into the Japanese market for some time now. McDonalds, KFC, and Pizza Hut are the leading fast food market chains as of today, but Burger King is trying to make it into this region of the world. With U.S. markets saturated, and the mad cow disease scare slowing sales of Burger King in Europe, it is so important for Burger King to saturate another market, Japan. Much research has been done to think of new and effective ways to penetrate the Japanese market through marketing. Our group of researchers have put together an in depth report on the issues within the marketing of Burger King in Japan. They have discovered the main cause for this need in marketing and what needs to be done to solve Burger King’s marketing issues.…
