My High School Goals
Going into the final straw of my high school career has been challenging but any goal can be accomplished. Doing well in my classes is something I strive for all the time and continuing to do well so that I get accepted into the college of my choice is one of my priorities. In addition, staying on top of my current college classes so that I can receive my associate's degree alongside my high school diploma is a goal I've deeply been striving for. Subsequently, I will then be attending a four-year university to major in biology with a focus on pre-physician assistant studies. Throughout this time period reaching smaller goals such as shadowing, passing exams, participating in clubs and volunteering all help me to get into physician assistant

As I transition to college from high school, I understand how there is no one in the world besides myself to help me reach my goal and it will require hard work as well as motivation to reach that point. At times, I feel overwhelmed with the struggles that arise in achieving my degree, but that would not stop me from my main point in coming to this school. I find it to be very lucky to go to school in New York because I am already one step ahead of my game to fulfill my target since New York is the place where there are many opportunities for everyone. Hence, having a motivated outlook on life, everything that is impossible will be…

I have been planning goals for myself since I was in the 7th grade. Some of those goals have already been accomplished and what joy has come over for me for making my dream goals reality. These goals change all of the time, from my major, to colleges and even where I want to reside after I graduate college. I have narrowed down my list though to a few more goals.…

I started my first year of college with my life prearranged. I had a ridiculous notion that everything was going to be a piece of cake. I was going to join different clubs, do lots of research, make the dean’s list, make my parents proud and attend as many parties as I could. However, now when I look back, I realized that I was too comfortable in my life. I thought I was ready to overcome every obstacle that was thrust upon me but I was sadly mistaken. College was a culture shock. I concluded that college is an entirely different universe, then high school. My GPA dropped for the first time in my life from a 3.7 in high school to a 2.8. The decline in my GPA made me realize that my journey to becoming a doctor is not always going to be easy. It made me hunger to go to medical school even more, to overcome the academic and emotional hurdles, and…

Starting freshmen year at an out-of-zone high school, I was already setting new goals for myself. I had to prepare myself for the rigorous academic courses, and manage two science courses every year as a requirement for the Science and Medicine Academy. The academy selects 60 students each year who are interested in pursuing a career in either science or medicine from all over the city. Through the academy I was able to take special science classes that are not available at other schools (Anatomy and Physiology, Sports Medicine, Health, Wellness, and Disease, etc.) along with engaging in job shadowing and internship opportunities. These classes have offered me a better perspective about various science and medicine related topics, issues, and phenomenons.…

If there was ever an instance where I had to miss school, such as when I had to compete at IHSA State for swimming, I’d notify my teachers in advance and ask for the lesson that I’d be missing. I’m willing to give up fun activities to achieve my goals. I don’t let things distract me or take away time from working on my goals. When I set a target for myself, I have complete focus on it and will work as hard as I need to in order to reach it. There’ll be setbacks, but I know better than to let them stop me. If I don’t reach my goal the first time, I reflect on what can be improved and work even harder to get to where I want to be. This has happened countless times during my swim career, and I know that there’s always something that can be improved on. I can always be better. With this constant strive for perfection though, comes a lot of stress. I plan to continue swimming in college, and I expect stress to continue being a part of my everyday life. Honestly, having a guaranteed path into the College of Pharmacy would help alleviate some of the stress and therefore, I’d have a clearer focus on both my studies and training to do well in…

In my early years I moved from state to state. It was difficult at times to find my niche or friends that shared the same values as myself. When my family settled down in Virginia it was hard to find what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I did not have many friends in high school which channeled my energy in my studies. I graduated high school with an advanced diploma and an energized spirit for college even when I was not quite sure if I still wanted to pursue my major of Economics. I knew when I entered college that I was going to make new educational goals for myself. One of my major goals was to make the Dean's list for most of my semesters. Now two years into college I have meet this goal every semester. For these two years I have…

High School to some is the best part of their lives and to others is the worst part of their life. As for me I believe high school is just about setting goals and achieving them. Personally, I set up three important and motivating yet perceivable individual goals to get me through high school. My First Goal is to not miss more than two days of school in the entire school year. My second goal is to finish my high school career with the 26 credits that I am required if not maybe more. Finally my third high school goal I plan to end high school with a 3.8 Grade Point Average.…

Throughout my entire career as a student, I have put into my mind that I need to do the best I can, so that I can be accepted into a great college and receive scholarships. I worked hard every year so that I could earn great grades to raise my GPA. I am now ranked fourth in my class. I selected challenging and advanced courses , so that I could increase my GPA even more. Every year I took classes that were honors or AP. I chose not to focus on the easy elective options, and instead I chose to take more difficult classes that would help me for the future and that were directed towards my career choice. I took all the medical courses and became a CNA and CMAA my junior year. Usually the CNA class is taken by seniors, but I took this challenging class as a junior and I…
