My High School Student Senate Officer
A leader is defined by The Cambridge Dictionary as, “a person who manages or controls other people, especially because of their ability or position.” When I read this definition of a leader, the first person who comes to my mind is my high school Student Senate adviser.
As I first began high school I didn’t really have a place to go or a group to be with. I tried joining a variety of different clubs and organizations at my school and found that FFA was where I belonged. I had a great adviser my first three years of being involved in FFA, but after getting a new adviser my senior year while serving as president, I knew that I needed someone to help me who already had knowledge of the program. Since I had just recently joined Student Senate and knew that the adviser had been very involved in FFA during the time he was in high school, and would be more than happy to help me throughout the year.
I was hesitant to ask for his help at first, but as I became more involved with Student Senate I went to him for many things involving both organizations. As the year went on I became closer to the adviser and could really see his leadership capabilities, which inspired me to become a better leader as well. He used his leadership abilities throughout the year to organize many different events through our school that not only benefitted

He put so much time into ensuring that all his students would succeed in all the things that they did. He gave up so much of himself to give to others that others have no choice but to look up to him. My Student Senate adviser has been to many different leadership conferences throughout the years, and has been able to take us with him to many of them. These conferences teach both him and us how to become better leaders and how to create better leaders as

A dictionary definition of a leader is a guiding hand in a movement or group. My definition of a leader is someone who stands out amongst the rest and steps up to the task and helps the “followers” advance and strive to become a leader as well. The only way a leader can be effective is by leading by example. A prime example of this is Malala Yousafzai. She was shot in the face for trying to go to school. If she hadn’t gone to school she wouldn’t have been shot, but she also wouldn’t have a Nobel Peace prize. She is now using her story to speak for access to education for everyone. A leader is someone who leads by example and uses their skills to help others succeed.…

He had courage to do somethungnso brave knowing it could have gotten him killed. Which it did and to me that makes him even more brave. He was strong and he was an amazing leader, that is why he deserves his rightful place on Mount Rushmore among the nations…

A leader can be described as someone who guides, leads or is in command of others. In many adventure and mystery books there is a leader. There are many different types of leaders, but either way, they have special qualities that make them important to the novel. In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of young school boys get stranded on an island. It is required of them to choose a leader that will be head of the boys and keep things in line so that they can all survive long enough to be rescued. The boys choose Ralph as their leader. Judging by his qualities, Ralph is the best leader that they could have chosen. Ralph is civilized, organized, and motivated.…

A leader is a person who represents the whole class and motivate them. I did not believe I was a leader. During my freshman and sophomore year of high school, I was a quiet spoken individual who listens to what others have to say. It was not that I did not have anything to say, but it was the fear of saying something wrong and others disregarding what I had to say. I did several presentations in high school that made speaking in front of people more easier. However, I was still the timid person who wanted desperately to break my shell but did not know how. A shocking moment had occurred when I had became secretary of Zonta Club. It was junior year and I was surprised to have been part of the leadership team. I was able to discuss my ideas and to speak with the members at ease. It was my breaking point. I was given a privilege to be part of something that made a change. I was not just the soft spoken person, but I was a leader…

The dictionary defines a leader as someone who leads. This definition in not helpful for anyone wanting to become a leader themselves because a leader is so much more than someone who leads. A leader has great virtues that allow them to obtain the trust of others. Through leadership experiences, one will learn the qualities needed to be a leader. I have gained leadership experiences through hockey, work and student government. These experiences taught me to be calm, passionate, and gain the respect of others. I have learned how to express these traits through integrity and the desire of becoming a better leader.…

Part of leadership is the ability to make a difference under difficult circumstances. But, what is a leader? A leader is a person or thing that holds a dominant or superior position within its field, and is able to exercise a high degree of control or influence over others. I portray the qualities that a leader has: persistance, determination, confidence, and passion. This past summer my gymnastics career went to the next level; I was offered a job at the gymnasium.…

Throughout middle and high school, I have positively influenced others as a member of my High School Student Government class, as Commissioners of Social Media and Recognition, and as Junior Class President. On occasion, I took the role of Interim ASB President, where I was in charge of the Student Government class as a whole. My major responsibility as Junior Class President was to communicate comments presented by my class to administration. This helped bridge communication gaps between students and administration. In my role as Junior Class President, I promoted an open door policy for any classmate to come to me with issues and helped them to the best of my abilities. For example, a classmate came to me asking for ways to improve his grade…

A leader: a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. This is the textbook definition of a leader although, is this the only way to define a leader? Can a leader be someone who, despite all odds against them, can come out on top, and inspire others to do to them same? Can a leader be someone who's life is filled with physical, as well as emotional pain, but see’s nothing but the best in everything she sees? Can a leader be someone who questions the status quo, and spits in the face of the social norm? Before researching this individual, I might have answer no to these questions. Although, through learning about the amazing and devastating journey Frida Kahlo faced through her life, I am forced to think otherwise.…
