My Hobby
My Hobby
-------------
A hobby is not a profession. It is an activity that we do for fun and interest. Different people have different interests. So, they do have different hobbies. My hobby is reading. I read books that interest me, such as story books, magazines, newspapers etc.
I developed this hobby very recently. When I was a little girl, my father and sometimes my mother used to read fairy tales and other stories to me. But they could not do it everyday because of their busy schedule. So as soon as I could, I learned to read. I started with simple ABC books. Soon I could read simple fairy tales and other stories. Now I read just about anything that is available.
Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. I learned about how people lived in past days of magic and mystery. I learned about the wonders of the world, space travel, human achievements, gigantic whales, tiny viruses and other fascinating things of our world.
The wonderful thing about reading is that I do not have to learn things the hard way. For example, I do not have to catch a disease to know that it can kill me. I know the danger so I can avoid it. Also I do not have to go deep into the jungle to learn about the tiger. I can read all about it in a book.
Books provide the reader with so much information and facts. They have certainly helped me in my daily life. I am better equipped to cope with living. Otherwise I would go about ignorantly learning things the hard way.
So I continue to read. Besides being more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably. It is indeed a good

Reading is my life. It’s my escape from the world around me. I love getting lost in a story about monsters and myths, or a Cinderella gone wrong. If I didn’t draw as much as I did, I’d probably be the anti-social bookworm in the back, like in all those cliche teenage love stories. It’s actually quite surprising to see how many people dislike books, there’s nothing wrong with a little reading every once and awhile. But who am I to judge? I wasn’t a very big reader myself until maybe two years ago. Of course, that leads to the first reason why I enjoy reading so much.…

When you pick up a book, you want to make a connection, to connect with the characters, to experience what they are experiencing. Things that we can relate to in books such as family, friendships, sadness, and fear can help us when we are going through a hard time. Reading can be an escape or way to cope for some people. It could be a fairytale or a parallel world that’s completely opposite than our own. While reading you can see how people feel about love or music, being reassured that you are not the only one feeling how you do. It’s a place to share and laugh out loud and enjoy what you see in the story.…

The United States Constitution sets the rules for the way in which the country is run. It tells the leaders what they can and cannot do, where their boundaries are, and the foundation which the country is based upon. The Constitution is the piece of writing which allows the general public to practice their religions and speech freely, or the debatable right for anyone to own a gun. Without this Constitution these things would be much more difficult. Although the Constitution is a written one, the interpretation of this work is still up to debate.…

I love to read because of my mother. When I was young I disliked reading and preferred to watch movies instead. To get me to enjoy reading my mother would read stories to me and I would read along with her. One day my mother read only classic books from our houses to San Antonio, Texas. We read Little women, Great Expectations, Treasure Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Ten Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, plus more. I remember how her voice made the words on the pages come to life. She would very her tone for each character and made each one unique. It was like watching a one man play. I soon wanted to read the stories by myself because I was always in a rush to know the ending; reading to myself was faster than my mother reading aloud to me. Every time I read I can still…
