My friends would tell me that I have old shoes. They would say,
‘’my shoes are cheap’’. It’s not right to make fun of people by the way they’re dressed. I was so upset because of what they said. I’m trying to save up my money instead of being wasteful. I know now, they’re not the right friends to be hanging around with. Another group that has helped shape my identity is wealth, and I love fashionable clothing. I’m an upper-middle class person who likes fashionable clothes. When I am with my friends, I could talk about expensive clothes all day. However, I don’t wear a lot of expensive clothes. I only like to have conversations about expensive name brands. My friends judge me by the way I look. This is because I don’t wear a lot of expensive clothes like they do. Also, my friends like to give nasty look to me because of what I am wearing. My friends think that I am wearing inexpensive clothes and can’t afford to buy expensive clothes. This illustrates how some people believe that if I am wearing cheap outfits, I can’t afford to buy expensive ones. The truth is I can wear whatever clothes that I want. I am free to make my own decisions.
