My Impressions of Sapa

My recent trip to Sapa in 2012 brought unforgettable impressions in my mind. Sapa made me surprised by the climate, the scenery, the people and the activities. Sapa was a small, quiet and poetic town in Northwest of Viet Nam. The climate was cool and fresh all year, there were four seasons (spring, summer, autumn and winter) on a day in Sapa. Because of that perfect weather, Sapa was a wonderful place to relax. There were much scenic beauty in Sapa such as Ham Rong Mountain, Thac Bac Cascade and Cau May Bridge. Standing on the top of Ham Rong Mountain, where varieties of flowers were planted, I could see whole the town and rice terraces as soft and curvy silks surrounded the town. Cloud and fog covered up the sky, trees and sights hid and appeared continuously. It seemed that I was in heaven. Leaving Ham Rong Mountain, I visited Thac Bac Waterfall and Cau May Bridge next to. From high mountain creeks, water fell down strongly, spume flew away dazzling white, so it was called Thac Bac. Cau May Bridge was a suspension bridge across a deep river valley; it was dangerous to pass the brigde. What a sublime scenery! Sapa not only possessed beautiful sights but also attracted me thanked to hill tribe cultures. Beside of Kinh people, there were many ethnic minorities like Dzao, H’mong, Tay, Nung in Sapa. They created the colorful Sapa town. They owned special hill tribe cultures with original clothes and interesting festivals. Ethnic women wore black dresses which were made from brocade, they wrapped up red scarves on their heads and wore traditional silver jewelry. Being in Sapa, I could not miss excited activities of local people, especially market-days. Ethnic minorities hold fairs every Sunday weekly to trade their produce (clothes, traditional jewelry,

This chapter started in a class at college; it continued to explain how a Hmong student spent extra time on his speech to talk about how people make fish soup in his culture. Once I finished the first page in this chapter, I understood that the young man was trying to explain to his class that we as humans should be more careful about how we select our foods because we are all connected in different ways. However, I didn’t pick up whether his class was interested after he was done with his speech. This chapter preceded to dig deeper into the Hmong history by detailing their live in north China; N. This research paper encompasses parts of Chinatown 's culture, history, demographics and landscape. We will attempt to explain some of their beliefs and customs, as well as, link the present Chinese Americans to their past in Communist China. It 's hard to remain objective, particularly while taking this class (COMS540), but in an effort to remain somewhat neutral, we will limit our comments to just slightly closer to being opinionated. We will first cover our visits; when we went and what we saw, move into some not-so-pleasant material concerning practices and communism. Speak on President Sun Yat-Sen. And finish with some proposed construction for the Chinatown area. We found the people to most accommodating and very friendly. We experienced some food, well for Richard (barbecued pork buns) a lot of food, and enjoyed our experience immensely.…

The consensus model envisions all the component parts striving toward the common goal by harmoniously moving cases and people through the system. The conflict model views the component parts functioning primarily to serve their own interests. This theoretical perspective sees justice more as a product of conflicts among agencies that ultimately serves to protect individual rights. Here, we can compare the consensus model as focusing mainly on public safety, whereas the conflict model is more concerned with individual rights (Cronkhite, 2013). In dealing with criminal justice as a system you first have to look at the different components of the criminal justice system. There are the law enforcement agencies which include all state, federal and local. Then there are the court systems which are also at the local, state and federal levels. Then lastly there is the corrections system which also includes agencies at the local, state and federal levels. These all show the differences between the conflict and consensus models and how they all work together for a different outcome. The first step is with the police…

On the first day of college, I saw the new environment and it made me feel more and more comfortable. At my first glimpse of my new campus, the air smelled new, the faces looked new and the environment seemed so different from Cambodia (my country) that it took away my anxieties. As my new friends, Theara, Sok, Samdy, and I roamed around, visiting every Delta College building, following the map. We saw awesome facilities support by high technology in the auto shop and we didn’t even know what it was called. All I know about it was that some of these machines were used it to fix cars. It was my first time seeing those amazing technologies. It might sound that it was just ignorance in my new world, but it just really seemed new to me. These great experiences in the new environment helped me to adjust to Delta College as well.…

    My Village

I have two villages, the one at Perak and at Pahang but the mostly dears in my heart is my village at Perak because I left so many sweet childhood memory of mine there especially during before the Hari Raya. My village located at Parit, Perak at a very country environment. Perak River was the backyard. As usual, early in the morning when the sun just a quarter shine, we had a full-hearted breakfast of Nasi Lemak and Kopi O and quickly me and my 8 siblings would rush down to take a tippy toe in the cold river water and teasing the sloughing cow at the river bank. By the time we got home, our grandparents, Atok and Opah already served us with a hot delicious boiled tapioca dip with sprinkles of sweet sugar and grated milky coconut. In the afternoon, the yellow sun was setting until you can see the shine of the golden ray radiates without a cloud in the sky. The sharp tweet of the birds can be loudly heard around the house. The zinc roof absorbs all the hotness making the house in a high temperature and causing our energy to slow down decreasing and our shirts are just wet with sweat. So we mostly would simply take off our shirts, take a few cotton pillows and lie down together at the balcony without realizing a gentle afternoon breeze was just enough to make us asleep comfortably. Late afternoon, our adventure just began; we would take a ride with our Atok old bicycle across the village where a breezy rice paddy field located. The scenery of the golden paddy field with breezy crispy air is just breath-taking. We would race along the paddy field to feel the air breeze as much as we could. Although, the ride would surely a pain in the back because the bicycles are just too big for kids like us but the enjoyable time playing with siblings and friends, dissolve the tiredness. After a hot tired playing in the sun, we would go to the mini old wooden shop to buy our favourites Malaysian ice-cream. It is actually just a Milo, Bandung or rose syrup water put in a…
