My Last Trip to Baguio
MY LAST TRIP TO BAGUIO by Jobelle P. Ramos

I love travelling, especially to those beautiful spots here in the Philippines. I’ve been to Pangasinan, Quezon Province, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, La Union, Baguio, and Tagaytay. One thing that I can’t forget are my trips to Baguio. I’ve been there several times with different companions. I almost memorize the different places there that the tourists visit every time they go there like Burnham park, Mines View, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, Strawberry Farm, Groto and others. One of my trips to Baguio that I still remember was when I was with my uncle and his family, together with my sister and husband. It happened last January 1, 2011. It was already four in the morning when I woke up, because we will leave at exactly 5 am. After four hours of travelling, I could feel the cold breeze of the air. At last were there! But the smell of the air, the cold that makes me chill from the first time that I’ve been there seven years ago was not that similar for me now. Then our trip to Baguio started for the whole day, we go to beautiful places there. Because it was their first time there, my husband and I served as their tour guide. We ate our breakfast at KFC in Session Road, I ordered fried chicken, rice, coffee and sundae for desert. From there we started taking up our pictures. After breakfast we went to Baguio Cathedral, and there they took a lot of pictures, because it was their first time there, they were so excited. With their different poses, anywhere even there were not so beautiful view. Even it was foggy and the views were not that clearly seen in the pictures we still continue taking up our souvenir pictures. Next place we visited after the cathedral was a garden, that was the Baguio’s Botanical Garden, for me it was more beautiful now compared before. It was more systemize and clean now. The cave that connects Botanical Garden to Mines View Park was more interesting to try now, not like before that it

One of the most memorable moments I have experienced was four years ago, when I traveled from Matamoros, Tamaulipas to San Antonio, Texas. I had the opportunity of visiting San Antonio for the first time, and more importantly, of spending time with my family who I had not seen in years prior to the trip. Spending time with my family is of great value and importance to me, so I became utterly excited to see them as soon as I had the chance.…

There once was a time that I went to cabo San Lucas Mexico with my family. The reason that this trip was so special too was because I got to spend a whole week with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and most importantly my parents. When we first got we went to are rooms and put are thing down then went right down to the pool. I can still remember the way the pool look and felt because I got cut on one of the tiles in the pool. One there reasons I liked the pool so much is you could just sit there and watch the sun set. Then the next day I went fishing on the beach that was so cool casting out a fishing line and sitting there waiting with family there beaches are so beautiful and nice like the ones you see in TV commercials. I haven’t even got to the best part they have a little cruise called sunset cruise. You rode on a pirate ship and watch people fight and watch the sun go down. I was a lot like the movie call peter pan. This little cruise was so special because in a hurry and I got locked out of my room I forgot to wear shoes so I was without shoes that whole night. There is one restraints that you have to go to when you are there I mean they have unreal food. They have huge tacos filled with anything you want with beans, rice and a side salad. I can taste it now. I also remember the time I went with my grandparents to the beach after the sun went down with one of my uncles. You have experienced nothing until that happened I mean the sand nice and cold between your toes swimming in the ocean you feel so free and wild. That is why cabo San Lucas Mexico is so special to me. I have a lot of good memories there with my…

During my junior year in high school me, my mom and some of her friends went on a cruise to the Bahamas. It was a three day cruise leaving Miami going to Nassau, Bahamas which is their capital. It was a Thursday night in May 2008 and we had a flight to catch to Miami. Even though the boat didn’t leave till the next day in the afternoon, it was best to get there early in case you missed your flight because most cruises aren’t refundable. We ending up flying to Fort Lauderdale airport which was not that far from our hotel which was in Miami. When we touched down in Florida it was beautiful. I’ve been to Florida before but it was when I was young so I didn’t remember anything. It was night time and the palm trees was so pretty and the weather was perfect, especially since I was coming from Michigan. We ended up staying at the hotel which was not to far from the carnival porting dock.…

My feet felt like they were walking on quicksand as I was walking down the hallway to the hatch. My nerves were bouncing off the walls. I have never been out of the country before, let alone with a bunch of strangers. The plane ride felt like it was so short because I didn’t know what my eyes would foresee when I landed. I was heading toward a country with one of the worst devastating earthquakes recorded, Haiti! The opportunity came to me when my church was signing up people for Mission of Hope to take a trip to Haiti on June 2012. They told us a couple of things that we would experience and do while on the trip. Nothing prepared me though for what I would see with my own eyes. Since our flights were running late I didn’t land in Haiti till dark. A bus came to transport my group to our camp site. Even in the dark misty fog you could see there were not many buildings. All you could see was outlines of tents and piles of rubbish. When my group arrived to the camp site we were shown our assigned rooms and instructed to get some sleep because tomorrow was going to be a busy day.…

Just for extra fun we drove to Chicago and stayed there for two nights. We explored downtown Chicago, all the amazing buildings. We even got to go into the old Sears Tower, which was something that I think everyone needs to see. It's probably one of the best sights I've ever seen, other than the fact I've only seen a good view going down Quincy hill near my hometown.…
