Leadership skill-building: My leadership portfolio

Here and in each chapter the student is asked to make a journal entry of a leadership skills and experience that relates to a major theme of the chapter. At the same time we encourage you to use your imagination to determine what constitutes a suitable addition to your leadership portfolio. A key feature of this portfolio is that it documents leadership accomplishments and attempts. Experiences can be from the job, community, family, and sports.
We suggest you begin your portfolio with a personal mission statement that explains the type of leadership you plan to practice. An example might be “I intend to become a well-respected corporate professional, a key member of a happy and healthy family, and a contributor to my community. Your portfolio must focus on your leadership objectives; leadership skills/attributes; and evidence (e.g. work samples, test scores), and may include the following sections:
