My Life
The sun rays from my balcony window of my 2 story mansion hit my face as the sun arose over the oceans horizon. I slowly opened my eyes to the beautiful creation God has bestowed upon me also know as my wife. When my mind came to a still, I came to realize that from all of the long hard hours of studying and working at a time was a small step in my long and relaxing life that I am now continuing. It feels great to be the owner of the multi-million dollar corporation known as SimplyFunCakes. I’m proud to say that I spent my 20’s and early 30’s getting my AA degree at Chabot in business, transferring and getting a BS degree at Stanford University in business, and to start the family business that is called SimplyFunCakes. First, at Chabot I completed my AA degree in Business in two years. A class that helped me out and taught me a lot was Business 12. This is the introduction to Business. …show more content…
This class was an important step in my profession because it showed me a little of everything that had to do with business.
It helped me decide on what type of business I wanted to major in. Another great class I was in was Business 36. In this class we learned the introduction to marketing. Since I already knew I had a positive outlook on becoming an entrepreneur, taking this class enhanced my understanding on how to show my product in numerous ways of advertisement. Lastly, Business 26 had a huge impact on my stride to becoming a young and prosperous entrepreneur. This class teaches you all about the introduction to management. It helps you learn how to run a business from the inside out. Managers play a huge role in every business, and when I was taught how to be a manger of a business, it changes your whole outlook on ideas for your own. After taking all these classes, I graduated from Chabot with an AA degree in Business and got me a scholarship to Stanford
University. Secondly, I went to Stanford University and also got my Ph.D in Business there in
4 years. Going to Stanford was an amazing experience. Class 6480: Introduction to
Entrepreneurship was a wonderful class. We went learned things such as foundation concepts, the new venture creation process, financial estimation and entrepreneurial decision-making. It really opened my eyes in so many ways by putting me in real life entrepreneurship situations and helped me open my mind in that field of study. Class
6485: New Venture Development had a big impact on me. In that class we select, research, design, structure, document and persuasively present a business plan for new or growing entrepreneurial venture. I couldn’t have had a more on-hands class to help me build me on my people skills as well as my Business skills. Lastly, class 6800:
Entrepreneurship Practicum was the more advanced Business class I studied at Stanford.
In that class, they taught us how to develop business strategies and write strategic business plans. This was most important to me because in order to run a small business, you need to be able to plan out your Business efficiently. After I took these classes and strived well in Stanford, I set my sights on creating my own Business. Lastly, After my 6 years of schooling from Chabot and Stanford, I was finally able to create a Business. My family has been trying to start a cupcake Business for years now. Now that I have a BS in Business, I have the knowledge of opening up the business. There were a few steps on how I had to create it. First I had to purchase and business license from the city of Hayward. It was very easy. All you have to do is fill out a Survey and then pay for the license. The next step in creating the business was making a business plan. This is where you plot what your business is all about, what are all the finances going to be, and your supporting documents, such as your entire legal document.
After that, it was simple. We found a location in Union City, registered our business name into the government, which is called Simply Fun Cakes, and got our Tax Identification number. My family and I are now going strong and we are thinking of opening another shop up in Pleasanton. I lived my dreams on becoming a successful entrepreneur. The many years that I spent studying to get my AA degree in business at Chabot, continuing this similar path at Stanford University while getting my BS in Business and then starting up the family business called SimplyFunCakes was the hardest and most life changing experience in my life. As I finally shake my self out of reminisce, my wife slowly opens her eyes while I quickly respond with the biggest smile on my face. I lay here in my bed thanking god for that entire he has blessed me with on becoming a very successful entrepreneur. I then walk up to my balcony, smelling the ocean breeze, to watch the rest of the sunrise with my wife ,hand in hand, and waiting to see what the world has in store for me today.
