I came from China to live in United State as a resident. Literacy sounds more important to me and became a life issue. I did have my literacy which is in Chinese. When the time I immigrant here. America use different culture and literacy. I have to say I got stuck sketching totally. Literacy is affecting my families, my career, and my social perspective.
Literacy and family. Seeking back in 1993, when I first stepped on this country. I was about 22 years old. I just pasted the 21 years guild line of entering High School. I was immigrant to United State through marriage status. Once I set foot on America, I already enroll for my ESL classes. However, base on lack of my new marriage experiences, I got my baby boy out of my plan. Even I was working in big Clothing Company. I could make good money and pay 11/2 after eight hours. Turned around, it is not hard to find the people around you just can work at a single job for years and years. It was very sad by that scenario. In their life, work and go home and stay with their families are all about it. They usually didn’t have smile. And do not know what the world around them is. Inside of it was full of anxious and unhappiness. They were afraid of getting lay off and can’t find jobs. They were more afraid of where they can go. Comparing with this, I was much easier being hired by a company. Even through not with high salary but at least I can get a job as a cashier, a restaurant waitress, an office clerk and so on. Here as I did my review, it was all about literacy, and how you locate literacy’s important position in your life. It was lots of difficulties, but it was worthy, valuable and important to solve this puzzle which is taking affect in your life
