When I was informed that my major is Vietnamese, I wasn’t at all worried about my future as numerous friends constantly told me that your future would be brilliant. However, with the unpredictable variation of world situation, things have been dramatically changed. My concerns towards the prospect of my major have occupied my mind recently due to the poor relations between China and Vietnam. I know that there is a direct relationship between the development of Vietnam and my future, but it turns out that my major and my future is not so promising.
Firstly, the China-Vietnamese relations are extremely sophisticated in recent years. As we know, the territorial dispute between two sides in South China Sea is one of the focuses of the world. Meanwhile, territorial disputes surely have a significant influence on the sentiments of the people, and it will change the way people treat each other. Therefore, the safety of those who are working in Vietnam is unable to be guaranteed. For example, the anti-China protest, breaking out in the South of Vietnam in May, directly threatened the safety of Chinese there, what’s more, it escalated the diplomatic tensions between two countries.
