My Memorable Experience Paragraph
My memorable experience

It was the summer of 2017, where I was in the plane travelling to Israel for two weeks with my boyfriend at the time. It was going to be a tough tournament as I was competing against women who have any age, when I was only sixteen. My goal of the tournament was to achieve a world ranking. I had to start from qualification, which I succeeded in by beating three girls. The final round to make the main draw of the tournament, I was up against a local Israeli girl, in which there was an overwhelming crowd support for her. There were no doubts that I was driven by my goals and dreams with heart in it and also had just as much support from my boyfriend at the time, who also competed in the men’s tournament. The location

I had woken up early from the heat, it was forty degrees, with very high humidity. Starting the day with the right nutrition, I cooked some eggs with toast and cut up watermelon. Prepared my tennis gear, I left the apartment to the tennis club which was a fifteen-minute walk by the water, and used this time to listen to my motivational music, which was Wild Thoughts by Rhianna. As soon as I reached the club, I did my physical warm up routine and trained thirty minutes, practising my strokes. They called on the speaker “Practise courts are finished. Matches will begin in ten minutes.” Feeling the butterflies in my stomach and the adrenaline, I waited by the tennis courts with beside me my boyfriend who supported and encouraged me. The first game of the match had begun, and it was noticeable that both our sill level and abilities were even. Both of us girls were trying to take the lead and hang in there. I won the first set 6:2 with my competitive fighting spirit, although the result seems easy it did not reflect the competitive nature of the …show more content…
The points were very long, I began to wheeze in-between the points so I took longer breaks. My opponent took more confidence from the second set and had the momentum going into the third set. As soon as the second set was finished, I asked for a toilet break where I went and splashed my face with water and said to my self, “Its 1:1, we are equal, give it your all now.” I skipped back on to the court with energy, showing my opponent I am ready for this fight. Just like the first set it was a close start but I got my rhythm back and tried my best not to give one point away. With this mentality I won the third set 6:3. My opponent barley wanted to shake my hand from frustration as we walked off the court. My heart was pounding from happiness and could not wait to give my family the good news. This match taught me to never give up and to always believe. I became mentally tougher and gained self-belief. It was a match I would remember

We had made it clear to each other that he would not go unavenged. We had enough passion to fight the world if we felt absolutely necessary and we went on through what seemed like a war that weekend. Through blood, sweat, and injury, we battled for that title. The championship match came in our grasps and tensions were high for the entire game since we didn't only want to win for us, but for our coach who had recently resigned. After a game full of devastating hits and elaborate set plays, we lost after an undefeated run of 5-0-0, but we fought to the death and left it all out on the field. No regret in our heads would ever go opposite the way we played in that title match because Coach Day had educated us all that no matter how exceptionally skilled at something you believe you are, you will never progress without putting your entire willpower to the task. Without passion, you fight for nothing. Passion is what will drive you through every hill and valley of your life. From that day onward, all I have done has been for a reason and I have strong-armed my way through thick and thin to be successful in my life and I plan to extend this through my entire college career and lifetime. I will at no time give up on what I believe is crucial, similar to being successful in that tournament for my…

We were the champions. Skating as fast as possible, I rushed from the blue line to the net where our goalie was. Our team dog piled on top of one another and screamed with joy. Cheering and crying rang throughout the entire arena. I was elated, tears streamed down my face as I hugged my teammates. After a few seconds, our team recognized that we needed to shake hands with the other team. I understood the defeat and sadness in the opposing teams’ eyes because earlier in the year, I lost to an underdog team in the soccer section final. After the hand shaking, I was a given a medal from my coach.…

I stood up and walked down the stairs to the court. The team and I went to the locker room like we always do at the end of the third quarter of the girl’s varsity game. Our opponent? The number one team in the state of Kansas, the Hanover Wildcats. With only two seniors, our team had a record that you don’t exactly brag about.…

I started out on the bench because I was new.As I sat there and watched the girls I noticed there lighting speed, bolting up and down the court. Then it was finally time for me to go in. I could tell the other girls just clicked .Passing back and forth and making layups. Then there was me, the chicken with there head cut off. Well it wasn't that bad . Actually the coach said I did good , but that is how I interpreted the situation . We won the game 52-20 I was really happy but that was just the begin because it was a tournament there would be three more games. We won! We won! We one! Campions we were named. It was a Saturday and we were playing Van Wert in a regular season basketball game and it was close. It was a Junior varsity game. We were only playing two quarters due to the lack of numbers. The game didn’t count for much but we were giving it our all. Van Wert wasn’t a favorite of ours and we were doing just about anything just to win. The game was intense. The coaches were yelling. The crowd was cheering. The gym exploded with sound coming from all directions. We were equally matched. We trailed for most of the game but we were always very close. As the game was winding down, we were trailing by just a few points. We had the ball. The ball was stolen and we were all sprinting down the court to stop it. I got a hand on the ball from behind…

Tennis had been part of my life, since I first saw Roger Federer on the TV and it had been my favorite sport since then. Unlike other the athletes of other sports, a great tennis player has to be both intelligent and athletic. Also if you noticed the 2 flags that right by the drawing, it’s the flag of United States and the flag of China. I have lived in both countries, I do not know which one I enjoy more, but what I do know is both of them are important parts of my identity. Last, under my picture, there is a line that says, “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” That has been my motto since 7th grade, I came up with that line when watched the 32 years old Roger federer won the Wimbledon men’s…

Slowly, I kneel down to tie my shoe for the fourth time this match. The sweat creeps down my face as if mocking me in saying that I should have taken the cardio sessions more seriously. At this point I was doing everything I could just to keep my body from collapsing to the ground. The feel of the sun beating down makes me wonder if it is purposely driving all of its energy to sap mine. Glancing up across the court I see my water bottle filled with mountain dew. At that very moment the sugary, citrusy scent flows through my nose increasing my thirst even more. I could care less if everyone knows that my shoe really wasn’t untied, and they did. This was too much, the constant sprinting back and forth while trying to place the ball in that perfect spot. Why would anyone participate in something like this willingly? Somehow I always pick the best hobbies. It’s been about a minute now and my hand tightens around the sticky tape of my racket as I use every ounce of energy I have left to stand to my feet. Standing there my weight now shifts back and forth between my tired and blistered feet. She serves. My fast reflexes allow me to throw my racket to where the ball is going and my jaw tenses as I brace myself for impact. The vibrations tingle up my arm as I strategically swing through the ball at the perfect speed and angle. Well, almost perfect. The disappointment of another return into the net. A smirk on my opponent’s face shows her attempt at hiding the satisfaction she has in…

After a very successful season of volleyball and great year in school, summer was approaching and soon after club ball. The anticipation for the club season was huge especially because junior nationals were taking place in Reno, Nevada that year and with the team we had our chances at gold were very strong. Tryouts took place about 3 months before nationals and with the teammates that participated we formed a very young but strong 18’s team. This meant…

By now it was the third day at our trip to Drill Nationals in Florida. We were on a roll. We were hitting the practices with more intensity than ever before. We were all collaborating with each other and helping with whatever it was that we could help with. We spent that whole day practicing our routine over and over again. By the end of the day we were really exhausted and ready to head down to our hotel rooms to take a nice cool shower and just relax. As soon as we got there that was exactly what we did. By the time I noticed, I was already knocked…

In high school, I won a tennis state championship and was ranked number one in men’s doubles. At Berkeley, I suddenly was not the best anymore. The coaches tried to help me out; but rather than listening to my reasoning, I got a lot of sympathy. I felt the same disconnect with my new team that I also felt with my patients. However, in sports, I was on the other side of it. During this time, I remember that the only thing I wanted was not to be right or felt bad for, but simply to be heard.…

As the game progressed, we seemed to be doing the best we had all year. We were all super enthusiastic because we knew we had nothing to lose. Eventually match point came around. We had not been this close to winning a set all season, and all we had to do was not let the other team get this next point. As the ball came into play, I saw it coming right towards me and just knew that this was my time to shine. This was the moment in all the movies where the girl wins the game for her team and they all celebrate wildly. However for me, the fairy-tale ending was not to be. The ball came right to my hands, and as I hit it, it went straight into the net and onto the…
