My Mom is My Hero
There are many other definitions of what a hero may be. Some may say heroes are noted for their "feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life”. Some may often see them as mythological legends, "endowed with great courage and strength, and celebrated for their bold exploits." In my personal view a hero can be anyone of who you could relate to, and also more importantly stands up for what they believe.
Does everyone have a hero? I don’t know but all I could say is that I do. And she is not found in a comic book or in the TV she is found right here at this little warm place that I call home. Who could this hero be? It’s my mom, Lucia Espinal. She is my hero because she works hard, is a family woman, and more importantly she believes in me.
First, heroes are hard to find all because they are diligent workers. My mother is very hard working. She has worked her whole life to get where she is now. For many years my mom has been the only provider for this family. After dad left us home without a cent to feed us, she went out to work each day to support this growing family.
Second, In order to be a great hero, one must be likeable and family oriented. Family is very important to my mother. When I think of my mom I think of how strong she is and how she has helped me throughout my 15 years. There hasn’t been a time in my life where I was going through a hard time and my mom wasn’t there, guiding me through it. My mom is a very selfless person. She is always sure to make sure other people’s needs are full-filled before hers are. She cares for her 4 children as if we were the most valuable thing to the world. To her, we are the most valuable thing in the world.
Furthermore, my mom is my hero because she was always there for me when I was feeling down and out. She would try to cheer me up and she usually did. She knew what kind of medication to give me when I was not feeling well or when I was hurt. My mom is my

One kind of hero that exists all over the world is the everyday hero. The person that I consider my everyday hero is my mother. The qualities that make her my hero are her way of doing things, and also how she sacrifices herself for me. For example, she is responsible and shows her stronger side in front of us when we are facing difficult times. Also she is so lovely that almost everyone likes her when they meet her. She always says to me that her duties are to look after me but at the same time to give me the freedom to make mistakes and find bright sides of my mistakes. The way that she influences me is that I see that sometimes she leaves what she is doing for her to take care of me. Even though many people argue that heroes are not real, I will disagree with them because I believe that everybody has a hero who protects them and looks after them.…

This is why selflessness is another important factor in what it means to be a hero. A hero takes action for the purpose of helping others, without hidden motives or personal agendas. Heroes are willing to forget about their own needs when faced with the needs of others. One such example of selflessness is found in the story of Victoria Soto. The schoolteacher was only 27 years old when she gave her life trying to shield her young students during the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in Connecticut. This action shows selflessness in its most pure form, completely abandoning concern for oneself in the process of helping, or in this case saving, others. While sacrificing ones life to save another’s is an extreme example of this, it can also be found in the actions of the everyday heroes that surround us. A working single mother is an example of a selfless hero that we are surrounded by in our day-to-day life. While she isn’t literally giving her life for anyone, a single mother who has to work long hours and sacrifice sleep and other wants to provide for her children is displaying selflessness and most certainly establishing herself as a hero to her children and those around her. “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tries to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really deeply cares.” – Debi…

Everyone has a different definition of a hero. Mine is a person who has impacted my life, or lives in general. They are selfless and genuine people who care about others more than themselves. A hero has no gender, size, or age. Anyone is capable of being a hero, but it’s very rare to find someone who possesses all of the qualities. People like a war veteran, a public figure, or an everyday person are all people who fit my definition of a hero. Irena Sendler, Tyler Joseph, and my mom are prime examples of what I think a hero is and should…
