Hero in my world
Where would I have been without you mother? Destiny gives us opportunities to meet new people in our lives. Each one bringing a unique flavor, molding us into what we will become. There is always that one person who will walk in when the rest of the world walks out, the person that won’t sleep if I don't sleep, the person that will run up and down looking for something for me to eat, the person that will pray to God to take her life instead of mine when I am sick: my sweet mother. A mother of eight, a woman shaped with strength, wisdom, experience, honesty, faithfulness, a caring wife and mother. She gathers from her soil, minerals and natural resources and equipped her children for survival. Her life of honesty, wisdom and strength inspires me with confidence and great motivation to achieve success.
My mother: a woman from Bafut, a land with exotic beaches equipped with navy blue waters and surrounded by anchors of joy and laughter which enveloped you in the rhythm of its music and the sensational taste of its food that left you craving more. My mother, a semi-light skin tone, flawless skin, a narrow, not so much fat facial shape, plump lips, dark brown eyes with thick eyelashes, high cheekbones, a straight, narrow nose, a big booty and a long straight hair extending to her cheeks. Her life was full of misfortune and unexpected troubles following her divorce to my dad. They divorced in the year 2000 because the beauty of another woman charmed my dad. At this time, I was just two years old and had no clue as to what was going on. I was just another unfortunate product of an unsuccessful marriage; just another case to be brought up by a single woman whose joy had always been my pain. Because I knew deep in my heart, she did not deserve what had been done to her by the forces of this world.
After the divorce, my misery began. I was sent to live with my

The older I grow, the more I realize that my mother has always done so much for me. Her love was patient and forgiving in times when I pushed her to her limits as a child. I love my mother, Hester, with all my heart. I remember as a child, being fascinated with the letter A on her bosom. When I was young I was confused about the situation between my parents. I lashed out in anger towards my mother my throwing prickly burrs at her bosom. In doing so, I added to her already thriving pain and guilt. As I grew up and moved away, my mother decided to continue to live in her tiny cottage in Massachusetts. I sent her gifts from England so she can live in luxury as well. I loved her, and she knew she would always be welcome to come live with me in England at any point throughout her life.…

I was the only son of Sarah. My mother was striking in her youth, and as she aged maintained her classic beauty. She had stunning brown eyes, from which the sparkle of life had disappeared. When you looked into them, deep down, into her soul, her spirit was drowning in grief. I believe she still loves me with all her heart, which broke the day they removed me.…

Many times in life, we come across a tough, influential person who leaves a great and powerful impact on our lives. Maybe it is an actress, superhero, family, teacher, or just a stranger who did something that changes your thoughts and decisions about life. Fortunately, I came across to someone who supported me from the very beginning of the journey of my life. That person is my beloved mother, who taught me to walk my first steps, who introduced me to the crazy side of life, and who has always been there for me when I needed her. Ever since I could remember, she has been right beside me supporting any goal I was trying to reach, even when it was incredibly ridiculous to everybody else. When I grow old with my own children, I hope I can be there for my kids, and make an unforgettable impact on their lives the way she did for me.…

Being of multiple races and ethnicities, there are a plethora of family experiences and stories that have inspired me. From pioneers to Native Americans; from Austria to Vietnam. I have always felt that this allowed me a unique empathy. My family history is so vast; spread out across the globe, and there are so many human stories I feel connected to. But, there is one story that stands out from the rest – one that is more personal to me than any other. That is the story of my mother, who inspires me every day.…

There are many other definitions of what a hero may be. Some may say heroes are noted for their "feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life”. Some may often see them as mythological legends, "endowed with great courage and strength, and celebrated for their bold exploits." In my personal view a hero can be anyone of who you could relate to, and also more importantly stands up for what they believe.…

Do you have to have superpowers or incredible talent to be a hero? While some people may think so, let’s look at the unsung heroes like the teacher who may go out of their way to assist a student to understand a subject, or the parent who reschedules an important meeting at work so they can attend a child’s play at school. They have no superpower or incredible talent, but to the student who was successful in his class the teacher is a hero. And the child, whose parent put family ahead of career, instilled a sense of priority that the child can emulate throughout life.…

    A Broken Home

Mary - Most people would write mother or mom here but you lost that title from me a long time ago. Because of you I learned real early in life that it takes a lot more than giving birth to someone to be a mother. Because of you I learned a lot about life at an age where my biggest concern should have been which tv show I wanted to watch after a hard day at school. You single-handly changed the way I saw the world and the way I saw the people in it with every disappointment and every broken promise. You were the one that made it so hard for me to make friends and the one I blame for my inability to trust people (although you had help). You left me alone to handle the many tasks that a mother should be there for. I handled my becoming a woman and my first day of high school by myself. I got ready for prom without a mother's touch and left for graduation without a mother's smile. And when I needed you most you wasn't there either. Like the time I wanted to confide in you about my first kiss or when I needed your support the first time I ever had my heartbroken. You wasn't there to help me get dressed for my first formal ball and you wasn't the one that caught me when I was too weak to stand after my first love walked straight out of my life. You wasn't the one that caught my tears all those many nights alone and you wasn't the one there that helped me move away from the past when it hurt so bad to look back. BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN.…

    Love of a Mother

My earliest memory of my mother at the age of six is that of a very pretty face. For me she was the most beautiful woman alive and nothing compares with her. Even if she was unlike the celebrity mothers who wear designer clothes and do not get out to eat in fancy restaurants all the time, my mother is very real. My mother was small or petite, but she was a formidable foe if you cross her. I loved the way she combed her hair getting ready for bed, letting those dark brown locks loose and shiny against the glare of the overhead light. I loved the way she would lovingly wipe my back for perspiration after playing under the hot sun all afternoon not minding the fact that I smelled like a baseball glove worn for two seasons. On the incidents that my siblings and I cross my mother, those big brown eyes of her would squint in disapproval, mouth pursed. But I came to love that about her. When those brown eyes do start to squint, it means I have done something wrong.…

I grew up in a middle class, single parent family in Ukraine. My mother had to work a lot to make some money for living. Even though we lived in a Democratic country, our government didn’t give any chance for people to improve their lives. Back then, I would have never imagined that someday I’ll live in America and be blessed with the opportunity to make my life the way I want it to be. Moving to the United States gave me a whole new world to look at. However, nothing of this would have taken place if my mother didn’t have the courage to leave everything behind and start from scratch.…
