My Obstacle In Life Analysis
An obstacle is something that blocks one’s way or prevents someone's progress. In the maxim Obstacles the author, Viktor E. Frankl, was telling the reader about the Holocaust since he was a survivor of the Holocaust. Even, though I wasn’t in the Holocaust I can connect to some obstacles that could be going on. My obstacle in life is that one thing is said to me through one ear and it goes out the other. What I mean is that when someone says something to me I get too distracted and I forget about what they said. Sometimes my mom or dad will ask me to do something and I would say one minute, but when I then am ready to do what they asked me I forget what they said and I have to ask again. This can relate to the maxim because when the people

Overcoming Obstacles Makes Better Individuals “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome” (Booker T. Washington). Obstacles are a required part of life if you wish to grow and develop. If you do not face challenges, you will not become a strong person. Individuals pushing to achieve the goals we set and overcoming the roadblocks ahead of us are what make us who we are. In the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and in my own personal experience, people encounter obstacles, and eventually overcome them.…

“Where the hell is the armor?” I remember asking myself as I lumbered up into the open back of a Humvee with canvas doors. By the looks on the squad and translators’ faces, they were asking themselves the same question. These days we kept our questions to ourselves, asking questions was not in the job description. Our job, at all times, was to do what we were told and do it fast. You see, up until this point we had traveled in the relative safety of our Amphibious Assault Vehicles, AAVs, or tractors as we referred to them. 8 to 10 men with weapons crammed into a space about the size of an average bathroom, an average bathroom packed with crates of thousands of rounds of ammunition, grenades, anti-armor…

I have always found it interesting how everyone can have a different learning style. It does not mean that one person is smarter than the other, and vice versa. Everyone is completely different with how they intake information and their learning skills. My best learning skill is Kinesthetic I am more a “hands on” learner. I have always been more successful and learned better once I actually did something hands on. I can learn verbally, and visual as well but that is my best learning technique.…

In the literature How I live Now by Meg Rosoff shows how humans deal with emotions like Daisy’s depression and family relationships between Daisy and Piper that are established. Piper and Daisy and the rest of the foster family were sent to a barn. They were there for a few days then a chaotic battle started outside one night. Piper and Daisy were taken out of the barn. They were provided with food and supplies by one of the soldiers. The girls set a mission to go back to their original home. Piper and Daisy were walking in the woods seeking their home. Daisy and Piper had walked for days and found nothing. Ebert makes a very valid point when stating we should stay positive during the tough times, but his point is put into question when a pessimistic person reacts to such drastic information. Discussing about this, Ebert states “ We must try to contribute joy to the world… No matter what our problems, our health, our circumstances, we must try.” (34) This shows that no matter whatever issue we are facing we must try to overcome it and bring happiness to one and another. Ebert is just asking to try and be positive, it’s hard to be pessimistic about a problem when you smile. While I concede that we should still value life through the rough times, I dispute the idea that it’s difficult to stay positive. Many arguments can be made about Ebert’s claim,…

I believe that we cannot hold of our future. We can never manipulate things the way we want in order to have a better tomorrow. For me, God exists. He’s the Supreme Being who takes control of everyone’s lives and no one can completely fathom his thinking and plans for each of us. Holding on to this principle in life, my ikigai in life is to prepare for what’s ahead of me. I may not know what tomorrow will bring, but at least I can prepare for what might possibly happen. I am currently in my third year of studying, and hopefully, after a couple of months within this year, I’ll be able to finish college. At our first day of class, I said that during weekdays probably my ikigai in life is to study. Perhaps the reason I said this is because of that principle I first mentioned. I wake up in the morning to fulfill my duties and responsibilities not only as a student but also as someone who hopes for a good future. I desire to achieve my goals in life and reach my dreams. I may not know what will happen after I graduate college, but I know that being equipped will make way for greater chances for pulling off success.…

I would like to start this narrative by saying that I am a very troubled and troublesome person. I do not recommend or suggest anyone does what I do and live how I live. Do not ask me about this paper or contact my parents about it when I say the things that I do. This is starting to sound like a warning ha-ha. I live by one motto, it is two words, one of them is explicit and starts with the letter f and the other word is it. But for the purposes of this being for school I will use “screw” it instead. I live like this because in my fifteen years of life I have gone through more than you have in your years on this planet, do not ask for details. Living the way I do sucks most of the time and I live out the consequences every day, but it is who…
