My Online Writing Process
This experience has already been a huge learning tool for me, going into the online learning I had no idea what to expect. From day one this process has taught me tools that I never knew existed and different ways to obtain information and put it on paper. Using these four skills, investigation, analytical thinking, effective communication, and collaboration will enhance my ability to write papers. Learning new ways to do online research and to put that research in APA style writing early in my online experience will help my ability to write papers correctly. Through this process, I will have to find out what my strength and weaknesses are. Chris Argyris wrote ??success in the marketplace increasingly depends on learning, yet most people don?t

A trip to the ocean can be a relaxing escape from the everyday pressures of life. A sailboat glistening on the horizon provides a mental escape to faraway places. The rhythm of the ocean beating against the sand is sedating music to a troubled mind. A slow, gentle breeze can relax your tensions. You should always be careful to avoid overexposure to the sun at the beach.…

I, like you, have experience in learning on an online portal. I enjoy the flexibility, experiences, and discussions amongst other students. I have learned a great deal from other students, which has opened my mind more on opinions that differ from mine. Often, we do not see small mistakes that others will, which is great because it expands the option for improvement. Likewise, after receiving my only C grade in my college transcript, I devoted myself to bettering myself in academic writing. I have many areas that I need addressed as well. I have noticed that when I am enrolled in two courses with one in APA and one in MLA, I have a difficult time jumping back and forth because of the similarities. Therefore, I understand…

Week one was a little tense for me. But after meeting the instructor and my classmates in the class café’ I felt more at ease and ready start learning. Firstly, I learned to be an online student was going to require a lot of technologies I may not be familiar with. At that time, I was introduced to the good and bad sides of technology, such as going to school online or cyber bullying. Then, I came across relevant guidelines and documents, such as The Academic Writing Expectations Checklist; a checklist to ensure writing meets academic standards, and the Assignment and Discussion rubrics. Rubrics are requirements and principles used to mark work. Eventually, in the week one discussion, I realized that I need to be careful how I put words online. People have feelings, whether, good or bad. Be aware of what and how you write online (About us - Copy-Editing for Uni Students. (n.d.)). Stay conscious of how people perceive what you put online. Be kind, professional, objective, and sympathetic with views. More importantly, I acquired the knowledge of how imperative it is to have a printed emergency plan available, just in case of mechanical failure(John Rayworth: FLUTE List Assistant - Larry Krantz. (n.d.)). The paper includes a backup plan for your computer, phone numbers and email…

I’ve thought about what my strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to online learning. One of my strengths has to be my dedication, when I really want something I dedicate my self and when there is something I truly care about I will do anything in my power to make it work. So knowing that I really want to get my degree and truly care about it I know that my dedication and drive will be my greatest strengths. Of course there are always weaknesses, one of them I believe was my time management. I have two kids, who are my life and take a lot of my time. Since starting orientation I have practiced setting aside my study time and really have done a great job in doing so. As long as I can keep a great schedule I will do fine in the time management area. Another weakness would have to be the online library, which will be a simpler weakness to overcome being that I have unlimited access to it and will spend much time getting used to it.…

Deciding to attend college online was a challenge by itself, so I am writing this survival guide to help me stay focused and remind myself that attending the University of Phoenix was the best decision that I ever made. This survival guide will allow me to look back on all the things that I have learned and how to apply them to my future classes. When you are taking courses online, there are many things that are different than being in an actual traditional school and certain things are required and/or necessary in order to be successful. Always have a plan of action to help keep you organized and in contact with the way you communicate and study. Be sure to have the right programs and website links on your computer, so that there won’t be any issues in the beginning. Understand that there are many things that are important to learn prior to taking online classes, but perhaps one of the most important things is having general internet skills. A plan of action for obtaining general internet skills is to simply get use to the internet by going on line and teaching yourself how to maneuver through it. The University of Phoenix provides many resources that will help guide you and one of the main ones is The University of Phoenix Library. The library provides many tools such as, Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) in which will help me write my papers in a proper manner and Plagiarism Checker in which will allow me to submit a paper to be checked to determine the amount of work that was my own versus other quotes and verbiage from a known source. It is recommended that you take time to scheme through the university library before starting a course, so that you will get familiar on where to go when you are searching for something.…

I learned that my audience didn’t really know anything about my past. They had no idea what it was like for me to be on bed rest for a few weeks with only books and note pads. I feel like I was really successful in fulfilling my purpose of telling my audience about why I started writing. I told my audience the reason I started writing. My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time. I normally struggle when I do not like what I am writing about or when I run out of information to put in my writing. I…

During my writing process, I came across a tolerable amount of obstacles. I felt the tendency to occupy a higher quality word choice, as well as better sentence structure. Sentence structure was especially arduous, for I found a great deal of simple sentences in my narrative introduction. However, I did overcome these obstacles with the help of my peer-checking partner, my classmates around me, and my background knowledge in regards to applying what I already know into my assignments. On the contrary, there were a few things I could facilitate. As I write down or think of proposals to apply to my assignments, it is almost as if the suggestions are pouring from out of my head, onto the paper. I write down what I feel sounds right, and if ultimately…

My writing process has always been a frustrating one. I like writing, but I don't think I'm very good at it. When I was younger, I loved letting my creative side shine by writing silly stories and pretending I was Stephen King, using words that I didn't even understand. My dad read me Shel Silverstein's books of poems and and drawings. Those books inspired me so much to write and to draw and be creative on a blank sheet of paper.…
