Veteran’s administration better known to many as VA was established in 1930. It started out with fifty four hospitals to help persons that served in the military and their families. The VA has grown to become the largest health care system in America. James A Haley Veterans Hospital, located in Tampa Florida is one of the busiest hospitals in the nation since 1972. James A Haley Veterans Hospital takes pride in serving, more than 116,000 women and men that put his/her lives on the line to protect our nation. While Veterans Administration mission statement is: * To recruit qualified doctors of physical therapy to be trained for advanced orthopaedic specialty practice utilizing the mentorship of experienced clinicians & integrating evidence based practice to provide the highest quality of care & improve patient outcomes. Through post-professional orthopaedic clinical experiences, mentoring, & didactic education, the program develops independent advanced level orthopaedic physical therapy practitioners who exercise fiscal responsibility, are critical consumers of evidence based research, & are committed to meeting the long-term health, wellness, & specialized needs of Veteran & Active Duty patients.

The company I am affiliated with and whose code of ethics I will evaluate is, James A. Harley Veterans Hospital. (JAHVH). Due to the amount of trust that is place on healthcare professionals, i.e. nurses, doctors, hospital executives’ staff, The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and the American Health Care Association (AHCA) designed a code of ethics system as a guide for hospitals and other healthcare providers to create the code of ethics that caters to that specific facility.
