Abstract
The article I chose was about abortion and why I feel that abortion should be illegal. The article discusses the topic of abortion in how abortion is murder and the potential health hazards women may face upon receiving an abortion. The claims in which the author made were valid but not as widespread as the author wants the reader to believe.

Facts Against Abortion
The risk of a woman’s death from abortion is less than one in 100,000. Whereas, the risk of a woman dying from giving birth is 13.3 deaths per 100,000 pregnancies. Furthermore, a 1993 fertility investigation of 10,767 women by the Joint Royal College of General Practitioners and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists found that women who had at least two abortions experienced the same future fertility as those who had at least two natural pregnancies.” This scientific evidence and evaluation overrides the firm beliefs of the author but the argument does not stop there. I ask the author does he or she not know what women were doing to themselves during the time abortion was illegal. Through more research, I have found that abortions date back to the ancient times as far back as 5000 years ago where in China; the emperor used mercury to induce abortions as read about on Wikipedia.org and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Women have had “back-alley” abortions where the conditions were so unsafe, the majority of the cases; both woman and child were found dead. Almost everything has been used to induce abortions when they were illegal, from clothes hangers to heavy objects being rammed into their stomachs but yet believed by many, abortion should still be illegal? I just don’t think it is fair. The agreement is that it does not teach the teen girls any responsibility. On one point it does alter their life but on the other hand this is a life that they are killing. Teens are using abortion like a

Personally, I think that any form of abortion is tantamount to murder, and should never be permitted. This article only brings to my attention that women who wish to have abortions are only concerned for themselves, as the argument is based upon the health of the woman. Although the author’s argument may be valid concerning some facets of the issue, I believe the focus of the subject should shift from the mother to the living creature inside and its right to…

Secondly, according to Daniel R. Mishell, Jr., MD – Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Southern California –, women were employing “coat hangers or knitting needles or radiator flush to induce abortions”, before professionally-performed abortions were legalized in 1976 (Morrison, par. 7). Indeed, while 39 maternal deaths from illegal abortions were reported in the United States through 1972, abortion-related deaths declined to two by 1976. However, according to The World Health Organization, unsafe “abortions induce nearly 68,000 women deaths worldwide each year”, mainly in emergent countries, since professional services are practically inaccessible and abortions are socially not accepted due to misconceptions…

From the beginning, Elie Wiesel's work details the threshold of his adult awareness of Judaism, its history, and its significance to the devout. His emotional response to stories of past persecution contributes to his faith, which he values as a belief system rich with tradition and unique in its philosophy. A divisive issue between young Elie and Chlomo is the study of supernatural lore, a subset of Judaic wisdom that lies outside the realm of Chlomo's pragmatism. To Chlomo, the good Jew attends services, prays, rears a family according to biblical dictates, celebrates religious festivals, and reaches out to the needy, whatever their faith.…

Abortion, a medical practice that results in termination of a human pregnancy, dates back to ancient Egypt and is recorded in the Ebers Papyrus, a medical text from the time of 1550 BCE (“When Did Abortion…”, par. 2). Abortion is a hot topic that is currently sweeping the US and has been for many years now. There are two stances citizens tend to take on the issue of abortion: pro-choice and pro-life. Many people do not advocate strongly for either; they lie somewhere in the middle gray area. Both people who are pro-choice and pro-life have coherent grounds for believing in such. It is logical to base such reasoning on evidence to prove their claims. The people who are pro-choice have several reasons to support their stance, although those who…

The Fourth of July has been celebrated, for hundreds of years, as the independence of America from its oppressor Great Britain. This day signifies a day of victory and triumph over the injustice that reigned over the newly formed colonies. However, Frederick Douglass in his lecture What to the Slave is the Fourth of July? portrays the sadness and disdain that he feels for this day. Having once lived under the chains of slavery, Douglass is especially aware of the hypocrisy that this nation takes part in as it celebrates liberty, justice and independence. Douglass fervently critiques the institution of American slavery and the ideals behind it by depicting the mockery and hypocrisy behind the beliefs that protect the chains of slavery upon innocent human biengs.…

Instances where the pregnancy is terminated because the child threatens the health and well being of the female should also be a valid reason for an abortion to be performed. Other than those circumstances listed, the fetus should have the right to develop and have a life of its own.…

Once I went on a trip to a small village in Poland with my parents. Unfortunately, I got seriously sick and I was sitting all day alone in a single bedroom. The only contact I had with the outer world was a small window. It was like looking at an animated picture but through a thin piece of glass. It let me notice things that I had never paid attention to before. I wanted to give life to my drawings. It made me realize that such a thing as motion can give an ultimately different impression of my artworks.…
