My Personal Philosophy of Child Guidance

“ All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten” by Robert Fulghum has all the wisdoms which are helpful for not only the child but also adaptable to the adult’s world. My philosophy of the child guidance is to guide the child for the child’s future. When they grow up I want children to have happy lives with their own ideal professions. My philosophy guidance and my value are tied up.
First, teaching children to be flexible is essential to solve any future problems they might l face on. For example, when a child can not play a Hula hoop the way we swing around the hips. I will set up the Hula hoops at different distances and let her toss bean bags into them. She can create by herself next time. Being a flexible thinker is one of the important social skills. Empathy is a very complex skill to develop. Young children are very normal focusing on me, mine, and I. It will take time to understand and apply empathy. I will teach children that others have different thoughts and feelings. If a child A was told, “you are not my friend, I am not going to play with you anymore.” When the child A come to me, I will be an active listener. My knees are down, look at her eyes and, rub her back. I use R and R statements and tell the child A , “ Are you okay? How do you feel? You look sad. I will play with you.” I will talk to other child B who told the child A “you are not my friend”. I use I - Messages and let the child B imagine how the child A might feel sad.
