My Personal Qualities As A DOC Officer
One personal trait that I posses is patience with people. I know for a fact that as a DOC officer you must be patient and professional all at times. I learned that criminals will try to break you mentally when thay can't physically so I'm always prepared for that. That main thing that makes me fit as a officer is my cool head, I rarely get mad at suspects, if I do it's for good

Only being in the 11th grade, there are not any groundbreaking achievements I have made so far. One accomplishment that still stands out to me is when I was the only freshman to be interviewed and picked to be Bio-Med officer. This still holds a special place because it was defeinly one of my proudest moments. I am not the smartest person, or the best. I make mistakes, but I always try my hardest and put passion into everything I do. I was competing against 25 other freshman, and I was able to be the only 9th grader picked. There are two types of personality trait designations that are used to describe police officers. The two types are the unique traits viewpoint, and socialization and experience viewpoint. Those who believe in the unique traits viewpoint are often referred to as predisposition personality traits. Also in this viewpoint, it insists that law enforcement attracts a certain type of individual to the job. Within this viewpoint, some of the traits included are authoritarianism, cynicism, racism, hostility, secretiveness, and loyalty. (Dantzker, 2003). These are the type of qualities that law enforcement agencies and security companies do not wish to have. The other viewpoint, socialization and experience, also known as occupational personality, suggests that these personality traits are developed through the socialization and experiences of policing. Both views can be persuasively argued.…

I love to interact with a diverse group of people. I got to work with each individual and get to know a personal aspect of their life. Personal Statement “Gracias Doctor,” she said to me and smiled. I quickly tried explaining my role as a medical student in accordance to the hierarchy before she abruptly interjected in a disapproved tone, humbly saying, “You are a very good human being which makes you a very caring doctor.” I didn’t quite understand it at first since I was just in my first year of medical school taking her vitals at the university clinic. However, as the years pass and I was given more responsibilities on the care team, the same sentiments resonated amongst subsequent patients I was caring for. I always aspired to become a doctor, so given the opportunity to attend medical school became a privilege that I must have projected on to them with my outward joy.…

Attitude says a lot about a person as well. In law enforcement having a positive attitude is particularly important. When dealing with a perpetrator or victim, officers should be compassionate yet firm. Being respectful is a good way to get started. You can always escalate the amount of force used, depending on the situation. An officer must always project the image of being in control in order to be effective. If the first thing an officer does is wrestle a person to the ground it could be construed as an abuse of power, which thanks to the media, the public thinks law enforcement agencies do quite often. Police officers should always try to practice controlled authority at first approach, in other words, be firm but compassionate. Keep in mind that many of these people are depending on you to help them or solve a problem An officer's control of a situation also helps him gain the confidence and trust of the community which can also help the police with crime prevention. When you approach someone during an incident, explain to them why you perform actions, and answer their questions. Engaging the public in conversation…
