My Tomorrow

Most people don't really understand what "Quality World" really means. Dr. William Glasser coined this term, a psychiatrist who believes that we all have an idea of what we really want in life. According to this author "Quality World" is the overall understanding of everything that is important to us (e.g. possession, principles and beliefs, experiences and relationships) in our lives. The quality world I imagine to be living in ten years from now is one where I have complete my college and achieve my goals i.e. to be Computer Engineer .In my quality world I would have all of the innovation new creations designed. I have always been fascinated by the advancements in the fields of technology and computers. I see myself marring the man who makes me feel like he is there for me and I hope he would be smart ambitious and knows what he wants to do in his life. Our parents raised us bases on the values and goals as their own self-made and want us to follow those same footsteps. If you're happy with the life that your living then you have a successful life not everybody has the same definition because some people want to live different lifestyles some want more and some want less. I look up to people who are not afraid to stand up for what they believe and speak their mind, no matter what others have to say, People who chase their dreams and don't let anything or anyone get in there way, and people who don't give up or change their mind when it gets too hard. I believe if you really set your mind to something you can't stop determination and will. The harder you work the more satisfaction you will get when you achieve your goal. I seek friendship with people who understand were I'm trying to go in life and won't hinder my development. Some people only come in your life to see what they can get from you then leave. A good friend is someone who is there to help you up when you fall, help keep you on the right track, and be somebody you can

Quality of life is described as the ability to enjoy life. People define it in their own ways. I personally feel that for me to maintain a high quality of life I need to be able to utilize most of my natural senses. Communication is on the top of my list. I am a verbal personality and I spend a majority of my day talking to people placing emphasis on being able to talk to people and hold an intelligent conversation of substance with my peers and children is vital to me enjoying my life. Touch would be second. I would feel deprived if I wasn’t able to feel and or reciprocate a hug to and from my children, family and friends. Cognition comes next. If I am unaware of my surroundings and or the people around me, then I am not living. I would rather not continue to live than to live and not continue.…

    My beloved world

In Sonia Sotomayor’s book, My Beloved World, Sotomayor mentioned a memory in her childhood that I could definitely relate my past with. “If I needed to have these shots every day for the rest of my life, the only way I’d survive was to do it myself.” Those lines represent a time in Sotomayor’s life when a decision had to be made. She had to either learn how to prepare the syringe and inject the insulin or she could possibly risk being stabbed in the face by her panicking mother or father. This image reminds me of a time in my childhood when my grandmother grew too weak to manage herself around the house, and especially me. Being the youngest child of 7 at the time, someone had to take care of me while my siblings were at school and my parents were at work. We were a low income family who gradually lived off food stamps so we couldn’t really afford a babysitter. Grandma would usually be the one who took care of me but since her hip surgery, she became very immobile. I didn’t know much about taking care of myself but it had to be learned and it had to be fast.…

As years went by I was able to critically think and with my reasoning and understanding based on research and the scientific method I was able to develop a better understanding of the values I strongly believe in now. The beliefs, attitudes and values I hold have positively impacted my life choices and my overall health. Growing up I was a strong supporter of being kind to the people and environment around me. As I grew older my values and attitude on life got stronger. Values such as a strong relationship with my family and friends, importance of education, honesty have all shaped me positively. Being considerate of the world we live in and taking care of nature has always been of great value to me. I have developed a great habit of recycling, feeding animals, planting trees, etc. which have made me more thoughtful and respectful to the environment I live…

“If work and leisure are soon to be subordinated to this one utopian principle- absolute busyness- then utopia and melancholy will coincide: an age without conflict will dawn, perpetually busy- and without consciousness.”-Gunter Grass. Living in a perfect world is not worth giving up your choices. Without our choices, there would be several necessities missing from our human lives. The opening paragraph of “Between the World and Me” had me thoroughly confused. I had no idea where the author was going to take me and what a journey it was. To have a modern point of view of a black man’s life and how he is raising his family with today’s prejudices is extremely interesting. I don’t have any black friends, just coworkers that I hang out with out after work once in a while. Even though we have had some great conversations about some personal items in our life, I don’t believe I’ll ever truly understand or appreciate what they deal with on a daily basis.…

My own view of a utopian society is fairly simple, a place in which there is no pain, no crime, no anger, no corruption, where there is no need for "justice", a place where murders would never take place. The government would be a public government, in which all citizens would take actions they make would be fair not ingnerent like our govement. Women and men would have equal writes and shar opinons. If a war would start in my utopian nations and friends and answer 'stop this is a place of love'.But in society today this would never happen. than society would answer the call to war and fight to protect their homes. Also i would try protecting my nation, governments, to help protect/uphold laws and to rebuild the economy. Every person would be perfect have a home, good education and health, and grow up in the safety of a caring family. In nature they would be no killing, food would be grown and not effecct the food chain and we would eat speacly bread animals.…
