Good morning young ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to what will be an exciting year for you all and I also commend all of you for choosing science as your undergraduate subject for this year. I am Professor John and today I will be discussing with you the importance of choices. More specifically, the role of science and the ones who control its power. This, ladies and gentleman, relates directly to all of you, the future generation of people in the scientific field. The knowledge of science, I believe, is the most powerful asset anyone can hold. This is because, one who has knowledge that could potentially change…
I can still vividly recall the eleven-year-old me fawning over the likes of Lawrence Krauss and Neil Degrasse Tyson. I was completely immersed in everything and anything pertaining to the vast universe beyond our seemingly insignificant world. I thought I had it all figured out. I would devote my life to being an astrophysicist and eventually earn my PhD. I would relish in the pink lettering on my wall that said “Dr. Mia”, but as I approach my late teens, my mind has been bombarded with what-ifs and buts. Irrespective of my change of heart, I still have an intense passion for math and science since it is how we explain the world around us, and that is why I have settled on biomedical engineering.…
And it doesn’t hurt that comes easily to me. Science excites me. Doing science experiments is a fun hobby of mine. Thinking of what I might discover during the process overflows me with joy. While the science that we learn in core classes is great I have recently taken an interest in technology.…
It was nice seeing you the other day. I am very happy to tell you that this six week grading period I got a 3.8 unweighted gpa and a 4.0 weighted. This year I am doing a lot better in math I currently have a A in math. I think the main reason is because of you, you taught me to avocate for myself which is what I am currently doing when I need something in math or Spanish.…
Along with math, another subject that I have excelled in is Science. Moreover, Science has never been one of my most favored subjects, but due to its alignment with math as I progressed into Chemistry and Physics, I became very skilled at it. I can truthfully say that I attribute my success in Science to both studying the basic concepts of each course and applying my developed math skills to the courses. Throughout my high school…
I have been interested in science and math since I was reading books with science experiments in second grade. Applying math and science skills to solve everyday problems has intrigued me from an early age. I am always curious about how things work. Since taking AP Physics this year, I have been able to appreciate how math and science work together. I have taken other rigorous courses, but often it felt like learning math was isolated from other coursework. Math challenges me to problem solve and think at a higher level. I also love science, but until I took AP Physics my science classes were too easy. The labs in freshmen and sophomore science were enjoyable, but I never got a sense of how they connected to other concepts in Biology and Chemistry.…
Throughout my short time here at Walden, I have taken so much from each of my courses in my journey as a Master’s candidate in Science Education. I have learned so much about reforming and editing my teaching philosophy and practice in my quest to become a more effective administrator. I cherish this last assignment, because in my mind it is such a celebratory time, that recognizes the effort and the work that went into the past seven weeks – and also really reflecting on what has transpired in my thought processes.…
Before entering college as an undergraduate I always knew I would pursue a discipline related to math and science. I…
She utilizes music to teach the states and capitols so that the students can memorize. Now when I observed the lesson sequence she did. She had the students identify either the state or capitol while using a world map. The lesson started with her giving the students a colorful card that had the state or capitol on it. Then she led the students in a song about the sates and capitols. Next, she instruct each student to take the state or capitol that he or she has and place it on the map, when…
* To the present and former teachers: I want to thank you for planting seeds within me to prepare me for my future and especially for wiping those tears of stress over grades and assignments. I feel confident that I am as ready as any 8th grader to enter the doors prepared for my classes in High School.…

We all choose things for a certain reason, these reasons are what cause us to do something. The good or bad consequences that come out of these are our effects. There are causes and effects to everything we do. For example, why I selected my major is cause by the fact that I am bad at certain subjects and I want a certain lifestyle when I get older.…
I wish to express my gratitude to all those who supported me. I also thank my tutor for her…
To the one and only Ms. Guinevier Alloso, for her unselfish and unfailing support as our adviser when we have problems physically and mentally, as you checked word by word our documentation. We thank you also for sharing thoughts and wisdom with us and for the opportunity of having you as our adviser. You never failed us to guide in terms of our documentation. You are also not tired of reminding us on what we should do regarding on fulfilling our capstone project requirements. We are truly thankful for the patience, supervision, motivation and guidance for us to succeed this project.…
I started advanced English and math in fourth grade, and still take advanced classes today. My two favorite subjects are math and science. I love how broad science is and how somehow, everything connects to form the world we live in. My favorite aspect of math is how definite it is. I am able to find ways to solve problems, and apply that method to different types of problems. The combination of science and math interests me, because it mixes a very concrete thing and an always-changing field of study. My two favorite subjects led me to a STEM degree, and I know I want math and science involved with my career.…
