My Responsibility To America
As I sit in my classroom and look around to each of my peers I hear them talk about how “This is too much work!”, “I hate being in school.”, “I'm dropping out and never coming back!”. I realize how fortunate we are unlike the kids in other countries who don’t even get the opportunity to go to school. For the ones who do get the chance they have to go through great lengths such as walking long distances or they don't have the appliances to handed to them like we do in America. I've decided that my responsibility to America is to ensure that I'm taking advantage of all of my education opportunities to the best of my ability, in anyway that I can.

It's very important to take responsibility, for what's given to you. In order to take responsibility you have to take advantage, of all opportunities. Eventually, future generations will be held accountable of how the nation we live in will be constructed. Education is key to success because it opens up doors for people of all backgrounds, and it expands the human mind with knowledge. The highly vast education gained through education prepares others to solve problems, teach another and most importantly function at a higher level. Without education we're limited to higher economic status and social status.

Education is important to me because it is the key to freedom, key to having a better world, and the key to enlightening oneself. Education brings freedom to any individual mind who is trap from the cruel circumstances a person faces. The best example is Fredrick Douglas who used education to escape slavery. Education can make the world a better place to live in, which it can bring an end to poverty, end to racism, end of wars, and end life threating diseases. Finally but yet importantly, education can enlighten a person from creating new ideas or inventions the world has never seen before.…

I think about the responsibility to America a lot. And I think it is my job to help make this country better and great again. I also think it is my job to help protect this country to fight all the enemies who try to invade us by boat, plane, or any other way possible. There are a lot of people who perform their duties successfully and there are others who don’t do so good on performing their duties. Like myself as of others, I have to also pay for things I don’t like paying for but I do just so I can survive in my life and my career. If I dot pay for it, then I most likely wouldn’t have an education nor a job because jobs now days require education. And without that education you wouldn’t be able to do anything. The most unliked item I don’t like paying is taxes, but they are required to be paid or you lose your land, house, livestock if you have any, equipment if you have any, and possibly your own family. And losing your family would not be so fun because then you won’t have…

In America, our education is very different from most countries. The reasons for this are the rights, the success that comes with it, and the skills that it exhibits to us. The rights that come to education is that anybody can entwine, no matter how individuals were in school before that, race, or gender. Education also displays a way to success in life. I truly believe that American education systems are the keystone of American society. One of the most difficult aspects of American education for students is that it is hard to see our learning growth on a daily basis. In an average American school year, each student will spend countless hours doing homework and studying for tests to get a good grade, only to forget 90% of their new knowledge by the following week. After the school year, students will be out of school for a 3 month summer break, and by the time they return to school in September, they have forgot all the random information that they learned the year before. This cycle can get frustrating for students, especially when they are working tirelessly to learn information that they know they won’t remember in the future. I, myself, frequently get frustrated by this process. However, what I have come to realize is that my schooling over the last 12 years has taught me so much more than information out of a textbook. I’ve taken a wide variety of classes that have taught me life long skills such as how to efficiently manage my time and how to be self directed. School supplies young Americans with knowledge on how to form professional relationships with classmates and teachers, teaching a lesson that is more important than anything that could be taught from a textbook. It is for this…

After five years, here I am, holding a blue passport and can finally say that I am an American citizen. Can a young immigrant possibly feel any responsibility towards a country that she only became familiar with for five years? The answer is yes, especially coming from a person who lived eleven years of her life in a less developed country and witnessed poverty at a very young age. I loved my country, the Philippines, and I still do, but just like the two different types of love that I have developed for my mother and father, I also came to love the United States along with its culture and diversity.…

Education is a fundamental right for everyone but for the past few years, the United States of America has been struggling to provide a quality education for its future children. After the Elementary and Secondary Education Act where tests are given to students to reduce the achievement gaps by providing all students fair and equal opportunity to receive a high-quality education, an updated version named the “No Child left Behind” (NCLB) act was signed by President George W. Bush on January 8th, 2002 where the federal government held states/public schools responsible for the outcome of their students’ performance. After the law was passed, President Bush has promised it’s citizen that regardless of where they live, how they’re brought up, their…
