My Self
I. a. Self
Self is you as an individual, your personification, your identity and individuality. However, one may question what is taken into account, when considering the true you?
Who you are, is not as often considered by ones own reflection, but by what others see of you. The roles and responsibilities you take, your goals, interests, attitudes, behavior, personality, and even style of dress are a reflection of who you are.
These are only outwardly appearances, which tend to give false impressions, of what is being reflected from within. b. Ideal self In the world today it is common to want a luxurious life. Such as a beautiful home, nice car, and a family. I like for my appearance to be stylish. I love shoes and clothes. Not just any type of shoes though, high heels are my favorite. The higher they are the more I like them. I want to be a girl who has a lot of confidence, be an outspoken person and knows what I want then seeing myself as a successful person one day.

c. Real Self From the very start I should say that it is not an easy thing to speak about myself as it is hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? I am a girl of twenty. When I look at myself in the mirror I see a girl with long straight hair, dark eyes and a slender figure. As to my appearance I'm rather tall and slim. I have never thought I'm a beauty, I wish I were more beautiful. I think that I'm even tempered, rather reserved, calm and modest. But sometimes I can lose my temper and become either angry or sad. I like staying alone and sometimes I retreat into my shell. But at the same time I like my friends, I like to laugh and joke. I have got a sense of humor. It means I understand humor and appreciate it. There are many things in our life I like and some I dislike. I like when everything is OK. Being happy is one way of being wise.
Your inner self, is what you and those close to you

It is so interesting to read the different perceptions that my friends and husband see of me. For example, my husband had very similar results to mine because he lives with me and sees me everyday. He has known me for ten years now and it is reassuring that he knows me so well. The only thing that we both seem to entirely disagree on is how imaginative I am. He believes that I am only slightly as I think that I am extremely. I believe this is because my husband is a big talker and he likes to verbally express his ideas where I would rather put them down on paper. As for my two friends opinions, they are slightly different. The two of my friends are actually a couple who lives together. The one I have know for ten years, where as the other I’ve only know for two. Both seem to agree that I am not at all selfish but also extremely considerate of others. This makes me feel good, as I have stated previously that I always try to treat people with the utmost respect that I would want from others.…

When most people look at me, they don’t always see me. They see a girl. They see a quiet girl who is a big reader. They see a girl who is a hard worker and does well in school. They see the sister of three younger brothers. It’s true. I’m all of these things. I am also much, much more. I am mature in certain matters, and childish in others. I change my personality according to my surroundings, and do not show the world the real me. There are even some things that my family does not know about the real me.…

What do we have to understand by self-knowledge? What do we have to know about the self? The answer to the question “who am I?” implies some precise opinions. I am Mr. A, Mr. B. We elaborated “self” or what is really the meaning of “self”. When someone ask you to describe yourself, we just say our name, age, gender, where we live, our personal attributes and characteristics and so on and so forth. Those are only references of who we are, but the true nature of self is when we get rid of those references. When self encounters reality or experience, we tend to wonder of who we really are, we keep on searching for answers. We search of what will make us happy and search for the truth, because we have the freedom to decide and transform it into meaningful moments or events and translated it into concepts or images. Then we ritualize that concepts and re-interpret it as we cherish that moment until it becomes meaningful and value that result. A concrete example is attending Liturgical mass every Sunday. This cycle can be destroy be issues so we must be responsible and do what is right.…

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “To be yourself in a world that is trying to make you something else is a great accomplishment”. A question such as “who am I”? Really gives me the opportunity to differentiate and express who I really am and who I can be. I am not a complex person who thinks the world is against me, nor am I overly sophisticated “know-it-all” who doesn't take time to pay attention to my surroundings. I can't say that I am like every other person because there are certain things that make me a unique individual. What I can say is that I am progressing towards a brighter future.…
