People begin to confuse a baby with a build-a-bear. They use technolgy to manipluate traits such as eye color, skin tone, height, and so on. This seemingly innocent act, could have more cynical motivation behind than we could even imagine. A racist person could manipulate their child to have their prefered traits to appear "whiter". Let's think back about 100 years ago. If this type of technology had been available, what would today's current population look like today? Would everyone have white skin and light eyes? Would the other "races" become extinct overtime? Different civilizations, particularly coloniziers, completely destroyed cultures and forced people to instead assimilate to theirs. If they did not assimilate, a mass genocide would commence. What would make race any different if in those times they could manipulate what a person looked like? It is a scary thought, but that is what we risk with having a person choose what their child looks like. We truly do not know what their intentions would be.
