My Song (800) By Logic Literary Devices
My song, 1(800) by Logic is mainly about equality, but in the song is only talking about one person who is having a tough time. The person in the song is really sad and always thinking about bad things, until he finally found happiness. The singer made it really easy to tell that it was depressing because he used so many powerful words, and those words made it sound like the guy he was talking about in the song, was getting negative attention. The theme of the song is about equality and you should never treat people wrong just because who they are. In the song 1(800) by Logic, there are several different literary devices that describe the theme of the song. One of the literary devices that I found was a hyperbole, the song

Figurative language, specifically hyperbole, implies the concept of how singling out certain individuals helps with the succession of others. For instance, during the launch to the Battle School, Graff says to the boys on the launch “[t]here’s only one boy on this launch with any brains at all, and that’s Ender Wiggin” (31-32). Colonel Graff tells…

People must remember that during youth, this is the time when they are shaped for the future. Another issue addressed in this song is about racial discrimination and why it is not right. God made people equally, whether they are black, white, yellow, or any other color. Why must a race look down on another if we are all the same? It lets us remember that we are all humans and no one is higher than us except for…

Leadership is a very powerful trait that many wish to possess, but only few have the ability to appropriately carry out the task. It is a trait that is not only God-given, but also learned throughout life as we are given many leaders to observe as we journey throughout childhood and into adulthood. With my service in the military approaching 28 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve under some very talented leaders within my varied career in the Air National Guard. I’ve also been given many opportunities to travel to a variety of places and countries that most people that I grew up with in Mississippi only dream of visiting. Since joining the Air National Guard in 1989, it has been a rewarding career both as an enlisted…

One shocking example of the prejudice we found in this children’s show was an African American cartoon character depicted as uneducated and easily manipulated, while the Caucasian cartoon character was represented as superior and intellectual in comparison. Prohibiting the ability to use prejudice as a humorous technique is a major change that could reduce problems involving racial prejudice in society. If media stops portraying prejudice outlooks as amusing, individuals and especially children can take these problems more seriously. Furthermore, to reduce prejudice in society their needs to be a change in the music transmitted through the radio. Today’s famous music producers write lyrics expressing their prejudice beliefs against specific genders, races, politicians, government employee’s excreta and everyone listening to the radio is exposed to this. Prejudice lyrics have become socially acceptable and customary; potentially promoting prejudice beliefs while also desensitizes people to prejudice language. When lyrics containing prejudice content are promoted constantly, people become less sensitive to the problem and begin viewing it as…

Mr. Andrew Steiner, at 81 years of age, is a Jewish man living in 21st century Australia. As the first holocaust survivor that I have ever met, I found that he was unpredictably strong. Despite his age and personal history, Mr. Steiner was open minded, reflectful and forgiving all at once. He did not show resent to his perpetrators. For me, this was the most important aspect of his outlook. Despite the fact that the Nazi’s mistreated him, he emphasized that there is no room for hatred and revenge and that we must remember the holocaust, but forget the animosity. Through the set up of the exhibition, ‘Remember the Holocaust’, Mr. Steiner is able to spread his experience and outlook to the wider community. With the holocaust survivors slowly ageing, an exhibition is vital in order to stay true to the accounts of survival, and the lessons that can be learnt from the terrible historical event. Mr. Steiner is an outstanding Jewish example as he shows that his religion may be his label, however it does not define his actions. He could have let the term ‘holocaust survivor’ define him for the rest of his life, however he has decided to educate others, making him a teacher. He’s attitude, not only shows optimism, but truth and justice. With a direct quote from Mr. Steiner saying, "There is no room for hatred or revenge,” he is not only teaching the middle school students of today about the holocaust, but also about outlooks on life and overcoming significant obstacles in ones life.…

Romanticism Period originated in England in 1798 and quickly spread from there to the rest of Europe and America. Romanticism emphasized everything that the previous age had not: feelings, emotions, -- the heart over the head – mysticism and instinct, natural man over the civilized man. Percy Byshhe Shelley painted the primer for the Romanticism era. He was able to prepare other Romantic Writers to pursue their beliefs as seen in their literature pieces.…

Lieder ohne Worte (Song without Words) is written by the Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. It is a collection of forty-eight short lyrical piano pieces of markedly song-like character that he wrote at various periods of his life between 1809 and 1847. They are well suited to the study of musical form because of their artistic value. Op. 19b, No. 1 Andante con moto in E major was written in 1830 and is the first in the collection. The piece is in the key of E major and modulates from E to B to G major.…
