My Spring Break

Excited for the spring break? Spring Break or Midterm Break, as some people call it, is a week given to the students at universities and schools in some countries. People usually go out of the city to relax and enjoy their time. The vacation meets with the weekend holiday of St. Patrick's day. Therefore, I decided to go with my sister to watch the parade in South Boston. Going there was challenging for us. While we were in the train station, everyone was going in the same direction. We were in the middle of the crowd when suddenly everyone stopped. It was really crowded and we couldn't move until the train came and some people got on it. When we got close to the train, we had to wait for another one. The transit police were telling people to move forward for more space to the upcoming crowed. Finally, we got on the train with all that pushing from people. It took us 30 minutes to arrive at our destination. It was my first time seeing the parade. I did not know what to expect there. A three young men appeared holding huge flags. That was followed by different performances such as Irish traditional music and dancing. Also, the parade included some soldiers' groups from the Army and the Navy. Furthermore, there were several politicians who participated in the parade as well. It was fascinating to watch all of that. You can tell that the people were ready to celebrate. On our way, we noticed how most of them were wearing green and heading there with family and friends. Some of them wore big green hats and necklaces, especially the kids. Others wore unusual costumes and painted their faces. People were getting drunk and enjoying their time. The day was not only celebrated by the Irish but also by people from different countries. In conclusion, going to

The next night we had the Blarney Sampler. With the help of our Irish teen, we put together two or three Irish dishes for people to come try. As we were planning for it the girl who was staying with me, Jane, noted that there wasn’t a whole lot of strictly Irish food other than spuds. So after finding a recipe that got her okay, we were away mashing potatoes, making pie, and mixing together Irish Soda Bread. That night as all of us proudly stood behind the dishes we made, people came and got a taste of Ireland. July was a once in a lifetime chance and I got to help people while having fun with my new best…

St. Patrick's day, Christmas, and Halloween are all the national holidays to celebrate in Ireland. My family and I celebrate St. Patrick's day with extended family members and close family members. St. Patrick's day is very fun to celebrate with my family because we wear shamrocks, we have a big dinner with my family, and we also have a great time spending time with each other. The second holiday is my family and I celebrate christmas just like in Ireland. Christmas is an important and social celebration. My family and I don’t do this, but people in Ireland light candles and they place it in the windowsill, it reminds them of when Mary and Joseph when they had no room in Bethlehem. It is also a time where people get together and have turkey and ham for dinner and just have a great time with each other. The last holiday is Halloween. The Irish children go trick-or treating, they also play games like bobbing for apples and or eat barm brack (fruitcake) and that is made on Halloween. A ring is put dough before baking and whoever finds the ring first in the slice that they eat they would be married within the…

Just like the first day of school, I’m going to write a small narrative on what I did over Christmas break. I had a great Christmas break where I did many different exciting things. I spend a lot of time with my family and helped them with several things such as housework, carwash, doing the laundry, make dinner, helping my mom with house cleaning, buying groceries and etc. I decided to work a few days so I could earn some money, and save up so I can buy my own car. There was not much to do at work, because people were busy with buying gifts and getting ready for Christmas Eve. Some of the days went as weekdays where I hang out with friends, and did fun stuff with them like going to the cinema, shopping, go for a walk in the park and working out in the gym.…
